Our police forces should be neutral and beyond reproach, as such they should not be involved as part of any parade, homosexual or heterosexual or otherwise.

  2. The police will always be involved with pride in regards to the policing of it, so they are certainly welcome to take part in the parade.. like everything with pride.. don’t like it then stay the hell away and let the rest of us have a good time.

“Our police forces should be neutral and beyond reproach, as such they should not be involved as part of any parade, homosexual or heterosexual or otherwise.”

But that would suggests there’s a debate to be had about whether homosexuality is natural or not. Why shouldn’t LGBT police officers be allowed to march along side other LGBT public employees? If you don’t like it then don’t watch or follow it.

I think it is great what the Manchester police is going to do and I wished gay cops in this country would do the same. I have heard many times people saying “there are no gay cops.” Well guess what? I was a cop most of my life and I had dozens of gay cop friends including many Lesbian cop friends, so to say there are “no gay cops” is like saying “there are no gays in the military.” There are also gay judges, gay lawyers, gay senators, Congressmen and Congresswomen, gay and Lesbian governors, doctors, officers in the military,in the FBI, the CIA and in every walk of life because being gay or a Lesbian is as natural as being born heterosexual,so why would that not be so that gays and Lesbians would be cops or anything else? Bravo to the Manchester Police!

    Eagle Ashcroft,
Like all people wearing uniforms bearing the Crown on it’s badge, life was never so simple as to march. I supported NCD when I was in the Army in the 60s, but felt totally restricted because of my uniform. I fully realise things are becomming easier now and I have known a lot of Gay Police in my time too!

  8. Is there a list of the police forces going, somewhere. Seeing as TV Police have somehow made it into the Stonewall listings but never been to Reading’s parade (in uniform)and took 3 years to actually come the festival (Not counting the GPA). I would like a name and shame list of the ones that can’t go.
