    there are too many queations for it to be that easy. If gender didn’t matter then why have sexed sporting events, rather than a free for all? The definition of male and female is flexible socially; when it has a direct effect on performance we need to recognise it.

    Calling racism is a copout bearing in mind the treatment of eastern bloc competitors during the soviet period
