I notice that the managers statement said “we’re going to ask you to stop” so why were they NOT? Why were they immediately asked to leave and not given the same consideration that they claim to give hetero couples?

They should sue! Montgomery county has protectections for gender identity and EXPRESSION, which I believe would cover this.
