Local Homophobia, it happens in wales. It could happen anywhere I suppose!

  2. COME ON THEN SIMON MURPHY!! We’ve got a scumbag, facist, homophobic bunch of politicans on the take.

“Sorry, their what?” “Their not bastard Tories, but salt-of-the-earth decent, hard-working Labour councillors that never do the job for money but just the public service and the knowledge of a job well done.”

What’s the bets you won’t pipe up this time or start sending out strongly worded letters to the people responsible this time.

“We shouldn’t expect Labour politicians to represent anyone’s interests but their own.”

Oh, and drop the BNP bollocks, you’re getting really boring.

  3. The fact that mandelson, who just so happens to be filling in for GB and is at this moment the top labour politician on duty is gay shows how rediculous a claim of homophobia in the labour party is. I’m no supporter, but really. Credit where it’s due and all that.

  4. J; Any more ridiculous that equally the biggest name on Tory party lips is Alan Duncan, also gay.

If Conservatives can be accused of being homophobic whilst having major roles being filled by homosexuals, why can’t Labour?

You’re going to have to wait for another time to catch out that wascally wabbit, ElmerF. This is a story about someone making an accusation without much evidence. Last big Tory story was about one of their MEPs openly claiming homophobia was fake. Not quite on the same level.

Not that I’m saying this story should pass by without scrutiny – and I wouldn’t put it past Labour to bow to populism – it’s just that we don’t have enough evidence or info here to make much of an educated decision.

“Credit where it’s due and all that” Absolutely J.

We should be indebted to Europe for all of the rights that we have.

  7. Do the Welsh even have a word for Gay? (I suppose they’d have to make one up like all the rest of the words they don’t have in Welsh?!) Gwey? Galllw? Llangwegy……;-)

  8. I think this all a bit silly, really.

  9. Sister Mary Clarence:”We should be indebted to Europe for all of the rights that we have.”

Should we be indebted to Europe for all of the jobs we’ve lost, the immigrants that have, the astronomical amount of money we’ve spent, and the bureaucracy we’ve incurred?

We need to get out of Europe NOW.

  10. RobN, how pathetic! How desperate you have revealed yourself to be by the above comments. The reason why excellent Simon has not suggested another excellent letter is that anyone with a modicum of real-world intelligence and groundedness can sense from the news report given here that there is a strong possibility that this 67-year-old is incorrect in his assertion, and that other factors worked against him – factors possibly to do with other behaviour.

Its all come back to smack us in the face a bit now, because foreign workers have had they heads down working here and paying taxes for a number of years and have worked their way up into better jobs and management and now everyone is pissed off about it. You reap what you sow unfortunately and we have allowed the benefits culture to run rampant for years meaning we have opened the door for people to come over here and earn an honest living for an honest days work.

Personally I think it’s a little churlish now to start bleating on about foreign workers when they have paid taxes that have gone to shore up the lifestyle of British workers (although ‘workers’ in hardly the right term), who have elected to spend the last decade flicking themselves off in front of Trisha and Take the High Road all day, instead of paying taxes and contributing towards society.

We are forever hearing all this shite about foreigners coming over here and scamming benefits, and whilst I’m sure there are some that do, its probably a fraction of the number of British people that do – but of course, that’s all fine though isn’t it, and has been for years.

If you actually look at the analysis of the benefits they are getting, most of them are benefits given to low-paid workers, who are making tax and National Insurance contributions, which they wouldn’t be entitled to if they were jobless. The other of the larger benefits payouts to them is child benefit, which is paid to everyone with a child equally, and I know there isn’t a gay person on here would be arguing AGAINST equality.

The real reason the Labout trolls ahve not kicked of is more likely the usual double standards we have to endure from them. You hear what you want to hear and you believe what you want to believe.

I seem to remember the silence was deafening from some quarters after Labour MP after Labour MP got caught fleecing the British public

Evil Homophobic Tory Scum! Oops – sorry I mean Evil Homophobic Labour Scum!

‘The fact that mandelson, who just so happens to be filling in for GB and is at this moment the top labour politician on duty is gay shows how rediculous a claim of homophobia in the labour party is. I’m no supporter, but really. Credit where it’s due and all that.’

Oh god that’s funny. are you working in Gordo McBroon’s office right now?

  14. “there is a strong possibility that this 67-year-old is incorrect in his assertion, and that other factors worked against him – factors possibly to do with other behaviour.”

You’re staining the character of this man who claims he suffered homophobic discrimination, despite there being not a modicum of evidence attesting to such alleged behaviour – why? I doubt many would side with the supposed homophobic bullies in any other circumstance. I smell a Labour rat!

Sadly this is all too indicative of what I have come to realise about the liberal-left. Double standards abound. Total hypocrisy – eg in bed with hate- filled Muslims who hate gays and women, that runs counter to the left’s own doctrine. Silence when it comes to anything bad about their Dear Leader and Party.

Crazy people. And no I don’t support any political party, just as long as Labourscum are out ASAP!

You’re absolutely right Verde. Look at the number of people commenting here compared to any story with Tory in the headline. Typically just turning a blind eye to anything they don’t want to hear or believe. Deny is and it didn’t happen seems to be the roder of the day.

That poeple think, just because Labour hijacked a bit of European equalities legislation and called it their own, that this guy must be a liar is insulting and offensive.

  16. Simon Murphy is deafening by his absence. Write now to your local MP to complain: Right Hon. G Brown MP, Behind the hot water pipes, third cubicle on the left, Waterloo Station. London
