The annual Royal Vauxhall Tavern/GMFA Gay Sports Day is to take place at the end of August.

Events include a space hopper obstacle course, a drag relay, the handbag throw and the 50m mince.

The day, hosted by Timberlina, will be held on bank holiday Monday,August 31st at 2pm in Spring Gardens, Vauxhall.

Matthew Hodson, head of programmes at GMFA, the gay men’s health charity, said: “It promises to be loads of fun and competition in previous years has proved to be fierce. Places are filling up fast and with only space for 20 teams you’d better get in there quick.”

Registration is open and teams of five are invited to participate in the games to help raise some vital money for three causes – GMFA, Vauxhall City Farm and the Friends of Spring Gardens. Places for teams will be strictly limited to the numbers allowed by the local council, so entry will be on a first-come first-served basis. For registration information, visit www.gmfa.org.uk/sportsday.
