The Episcopal Church in the US is a shining light of compassion and wisdom – very much following the spirit and example of JC’s own behaviour and teachings. I was brought up Christian (now lapsed) and always felt that JC the man was very different from the doctrines of intolerance and fear preached by most Christian churches. He was friends with everyone, especially with people who were marginalised or shunned. So, he made friends with tax-collectors, gentiles, samaritans, romans, prostitutes etc. whereas the self-satisfied and over-righteous pharisees and sadducees (the religious leaders of the day) shunned and vilified such people … sound familiar?

I don’t understand- why won’t the Episcopal Church ordain single gay people?

  4. Thank God for the courage of the Episcopal Church of America. It would be wonderful if the archaic Church of England would do the same. Little hope of that under Rowan, whom we had hoped to be a strong Welsh dragon but turned out to be a rather silly old sheep.
