  1. What a shame…as that means credibilty will be given to ACPO spokesperson Chief Constable’s who talk utter boullucs & wind about ‘Equality & Diversity’ whilst turning a blind eye to the practises & attitudes against gay persons by the police officers in their constabulary, under their command.

As contributor (by invitation of the HRE) of both written & verbal evidence to the inquiry investigation, when I received my copy of the executive summary of the 2008/2009 Equality & Human right Commission Human Right Inquiry sent to me, it went straight in the bin when I saw the ‘Spin & Smokescreen’ spouted in the police quotes.

It will be interesting to see if a gay, lesbian, or trans person is appointed.

It will also be interesting if a religious adherent is, considering how many practicing Xians there are in govt

  3. The man is a total self-publicist with his own designs on what is or isn’t equal rights. This government needs it’s head examining.

  4. I hope that Trevor will sack Joel Edwards there should be no place in the Equality Commission for a person who ran the Evangelical Alliance – a ministry set up and devoted entirely to eradicating homosexuality and transsexualism. If there must be a representative of religious communities in the Commission, why can it not be from a tolerant religion or ministry – e.g. from the Buddhist community or from the Metropolitan Church if the commissioner must be Christian (although I fail to see why if it is about equality).

Also, given that transgender rights are the seventh strand of the public equality duty and every strand apart from transgender currently has a commissioner in the EHRC, Trevor should appoint a trans commissioner next month.

I Don’t like this Man Trevor Phillips, he is an establishment man and bends with the breeze, on any subject. All he has done sucsessfully, is Draw his execssive Quango Pay slip and his political ‘Pals’ are happy to carry on because of the old school tie ethos!
