Well Barcelona is a great city, to add some info to the article, the city is quite safe during the day and night. Indeed, brush up your Catalan, more and more Catalans refuse to speak Spanish, although they are fully bilingual. However, gay Catalans are more friendly and will surely approach you in Spanish, English or French.
There are many cheap flights from all over Europe to Barcelona, budget is also easy to find. The Student Accommodation offer bed and sometimes breakfast for very affordable prices.
The city is great, it is All In One, I suggest a minimum stay of 5 days or longer if wish you to have sometime on the beach and visit some of the cultural attractions.
To correct a mistake in your article: “Palau Naçional” is incorrectly written, the Ç only appears before an A, O or U, therefore please correct to “Palau Nacional”, if you still have any doubt on this, please visit their official website:
Sitges is an amazing “Gay Haven”. The TerraMare hotel looks like its the setting for an Agatha Christie Novel but its a long walk to the town so get the trolly bus past a selection of beautiful sea facing villas! Avoid the Pizza Express; Spanish waiters can go just that bit too far!(Manuel from Fawlty Towers may have been from Barcelona but his cousins in Siges are just sloppy and rude!!!!) Los Globos has a lovley little drinks terrace and excellent staff for a tiny hotel!
This is a pic of the beach at Sitges. It’s a wonderful little getaway from BCN, and very gay friendly. I highly recommend the hotel Calipolis where I stayed last summer.
I would like to know what is going on, I have been posting comments and they are not being posted, this is really annoying. Please comment on this.
Very much looking forward to returning to Barcelona on holiday next month. Thanks for wetting my appetite :)
