Not exactly a critical report of a “luvvie” party paid for by us, the tax payer.

Attendees (especially the journos) really ought to have asked about gay marriage, gays in Iraq. As it is, they seem to have been overwhelmed by the invitation

    Mihangel apYrs,

I’ll take your advice, live in the moment, and say that I think that you’re a total tosser whose contributions to this site add as much value as a dog turd.

You are obviously the air-head sort that wouuld club and party and hope it would all turn out OK while some other poor sod was trying to make things work for you and your type.

For your information, my life is far from wretched, but I was brought up to question everything, including my “betters”

Two areas of the law we need to work on to provide equality for gay men and lesbian women:

    * Removing the ban on blood donations (note: only bans gay men, not lesbian women)
    * Removing the “seperate-but-equal civil partnerships” and upgrading them to “civil marriage”.

UK timeline – we have come a long way

1967 homosexuality decrimilized (only applies to England and Wales)
1977 attempt to make age of consent 18 failed
    1980 Scotland decrimilizes homosexuality
1984 Northern Ireland decrimilizes homosexuality, another attempt to make age of consent 18 failed again
1988 section 28 passes, banning discussion about gays in schools
1990 gay bashing tripled, another attempt for age of consent to 18 failed yet again
1994 age of consent finally dropped to 18
1996 attempt age of consent to 16 failed
1997 attempt age of consent to 16 failed again
1998 lords passes age of consent of 16 bill, failed in commons
1999 passed in lords again for attempt age of consent to 16 failed yet again in commons
2000 age of consent FINALLY equal to 16 (eff. 2001)
2002 de facto recognition of same-sx couples in most areas of statute law
2003 joint adoption for same-sex couples legal (only applies to Wales and England)
2004 section 28 repealed and gender reassignment legalized.
2005 civil partnership (the “seperate-but-equal” form of marriage) now legalized.
2006 Discrimination outlawed on gender idenity and sexual orientation in emplyment, goods and services, etc.
    2007 anti-Hate crime legislation passes
2008 IVF access, surrogacy and parentage legalized for lesbians.
2009 surrogacy and parentage legalized for gay men (IVF is impossible for gay men).
    2010 Civil Marriage??????

Great to see PN reps there. What a real change in the last 10 years- let’s rejoice- not grumble!

  6. Its a shame it was really just a gay reception with token L&B invites what happened to LBT representation ITS NOT GAY PRIDE ITS LGBT PRIDE.
