A chef who killed his gay lover and ate his flesh has failed in his attempt to get his jail sentence reduced.

Anthony Francis Morley, of Leeds, was convicted of the murder of Damian Oldfield, 33, last October and given a minimum term of 30 years. He had denied murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Leeds Crown Court heard the former Mr Gay UK had stabbed Oldfield numerous times and cut his throat before cooking and eating flesh from his thighs.

Morley had claimed the sentence was too long for Oldfield’s murder and the desecration of his body.

London’s Court of Appeal ruled there was nothing wrong with the sentence given to him.
