3:33 PM — A chef who killed his gay lover and ate his flesh has failed in his attempt to get his jail sentence reduced. Anthony Francis Morley, of Leeds, was convicted of the murder of Damian Oldfield, 33, last October and given a minimum term of 30 years. He had denied murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Spanish trans man suffers miscarriage 15
2:47 PM — A Spanish trans man who was due to give birth to twin boys in September has miscarried. Ruben Noe Coronado, 25, who was born a woman, had stopped his course of hormone treatments in order to fall pregnant via artificial insemination.
British ambassador to Poland criticised for ‘pushing’ gay rights 37
2:39 PM — The British ambassador to Poland has been told by the country's civil rights ombudsman he is "exceeding his authority" by promoting a gay Pride march due to take place in Warsaw this weekend. Ric Todd has also been accused by Catholic groups of "representing the 'homosexual lobby".

2:13 PM — The UKIP candiate for next month's by-election in Hove's Goldsmid ward was suspended from his job after comparing gays to paedophiles in 2007. Mike Mendoza, a presenter on talk radio station Talksport, was suspended for a week over his outburst.

Six men jailed over Scottish paedophile ring 12
1:17 PM — Six of the eight men convicted of child abuse offences in a Scottish paedophile ring have received jail sentences. The remaining two, one of whom was a gay rights campaigner, are to be sentenced at a later date for more serious crimes.
China cancels part of Shanghai Pride 8
12:52 PM — Officials in China have cancelled part of Shanghai Pride. Venue owners were reportedly threatened with "severe consequences" if a planned play and a film screening went ahead. The play was to be The Laramie Project, which deals with the murder of a gay teenager.

11:40 AM — The recently crowned Miss California, Carrie Prejean, who caused outrage for expressing her anti gay marriage views, has been sacked for breaching her contract.
