  5. I’m in the National News
    again.
Hopefully this will be the first of many grants, because a lot of
people were very angry at finding out that all of their hard work (raising
millions) had been used for discrimination in this way by the BBC. They felt
completely "used" by them and embarrassed that they didn’t know what was
happening. Even gay celebrities were angry.
If I was the BBC I would want to reassure the gay community that this kind of
    discrimination will "never" happen again.
But I don’t thing they will somehow. The BBC are just a bunch of homophobes.

  6. Selective homophobia

1.So on the BBC he is homophobic

2.On twitter he is supportive of gay rights

Any psychologists in the house to tell us about Ross’s state of mind.

Redemption!!! . . . he should be so lucky

  8. I see the usual Marxist collective of Brian Burton, John K, Eddy Craig et al still won’t accept people when they *do* support LGBT causes. It seems you have to toe the clique’s leftie line at all times, or feel the wrath of their incessant persecution complex. Hence Jonathan Ross gets flak for saying something while Graham Norton gets it in the neck for not. One just can’t win with you lot.

Oh, and why should some backwater town in the Pennines need £82,000 for a counsellor when the money would have been far better spent in inner cities? The BBC probably employs more LGBT people as a statistic than virtually any other large organisation, public or private; The BBC may be a slow old dinosaur in a lot of ways, with a lot of shortfalls, but homophobia isn’t one of them. There are way too many miserable old left-wing queens like you lot to ensure that.

“The BBC may be a slow old dinosaur in a lot of ways, with a lot of shortfalls, but homophobia isn’t one of them. There are way too many miserable old left-wing queens like you lot to ensure that”, to quote one previous poster. In other words, the only reason the BBC isn’t homophobic is because of miserable old left-wing queens such as Brian Burton, John K and Eddy Craig. Boys, thank you! We need many more miserable old left-wing queens like you! (And what indeed, is wrong with being an old queen anyway? I always liked the flaming old boys who gave me what freedoms I enjoy).

As for money “being better spent in inner cities” rather than a counsellor – nah, that sounds far too much like one of those miserable Marxist leftie policies!

  11. I ‘get’ Jonathan Ross’s humour and that’s the point for me. Many LGB folk take offence at the slightest thing. I can see how feelings get hurt but all I can say is, I for one will continue to appreciate his wry, wicked ways. I choose not to condemn all and sundry on the strength of the odd remark. ‘Keep it real’.

  12. RobN, it is possible to be a Kensian or a monetarist, a Thatcherite or a strong believer in a mixed economy and still come to the conclusion that J Ross might be a two-faced tit. I don’t happen to share that view, but there is no evidence for any marxist collective on this thread ;-)

  13. I emailed Jonathan on Sunday to ask if he had any comments about my blog that day. I wanted to know his views, and said I’d be grateful to know if he thought I’d misrepresented him in any way. So far he hasn’t answered my questions. A change in his attitude would obviously suffice instead of an answer.

for god’s sake! Have you lot got a new victim now? JR has shown a suport for the Queer comunity that a Gay ‘celebrety’ hasn’t but he’s still a homophobe.

Grow the f–k up and stop atacking Queer entertainers too *Four Poofs’) I know you lot have a problem with displays of sexuality as it’s not entirly utalitarian but just bugger off and leave the rest of us alone.

    RobN,
You would fair better kissing David Skinner’s pinky ring. Your Anti-Gay ramblings run along side his fine. He’s about to be taken away by men in white coats anyway.

  16. @RobN – Why on earth do you constantly try to hijack these comment threads with accusations of everyone but yourself being a “marxist lefty liberal”. It is getting really boring (and hence why I’m finally posting this). It seems as if you would accuse the hole in a doughnut of being there as a “lefty marxist” statement if you could!

  17. George: Maybe it’s because most politically active gay men are slightly left of Stalin, and positively froth at the mouth if you so much as mention Margaret Thatcher. They work on the principle that if you don’t follow their principles to the letter, you are not a true LGBT-supporting socialist, and therefore, QED must be a rampant Nazi that kills babies. There are others on here that, besides myself, do not fit that mould, and we just like our opinions know, whilst hopefully bursting a few stuck-up-their-arse right-on leftie bubbles.

RobN believes that women, black people and gay people should wait for society to become accepting of them. He is opposed to people taking action to claim their rights. He really should be ignored. Uncle Toms like him are the enablers of prejudice as it is queers like him that the Tory party look to when deciding on their policies towards minorities, not realising the people like RobN represent the views of gay society in the 1940′s.

Attacking JR is hard work. He is a crafty b**terd, but I’m craftier! Here is a list of guests that have been on the show and he often welcomes
back guests that have been on previously. Many guests from the USA support gay rights and will be unaware of his homophobic attitude. What we need to do is
contact all of his previous guests and tell them what he is doing. (You can contact the guest’s via their Agents) He’ll be laughing out of the other side of his face when his guest’s start cancelling
appearances to be on the show. What could he do if he finds out about it? "Absolutely nothing." Soon the only guests he’ll have on the Show will be the 4 Poof’s. I’ll blog a letter that can be sent to the guests and perhaps the
people on this thread could email JR to tell him his days as the top man at the BBC are numbed?

no he made a silly joke but that dosn’t make him a homophobe does it?

what about the ‘entertainers’ who use their sexuality to get on the tv and then hang the comunity out to dry? why don’t you discuss them?

On balance, I don’t consider Ross to be a homophobe and I don’t want his head on a plate, though I just wish he wouldn’t sell us out for cheap laughs.
I can take the odd joke at my expense, but implying parents who discover their kids are gay should consider giving them up for adoption, even in the context of an off the cuff flippant remark is a serious lapse of judgement, as it has social consequences.
I hope it’s not a mistake he’s going to repeat any time soon.
