Homophobic abuse is unacceptable at any age.

One of the culprits here is 14 years old.

    Who are his parents?

Are they being monitored for allowing their child to be an extremist moron?

I am not a fan of Pompy but follow their progress as well as Southampton F.C. I also knew that Sol Campbell was verbally and homophobicly insulted. I also Knew the Cops were combing through reels of vidio. Thank goodness they were sucsessful.

I hope the fining and banning keeps these two in line, and I hope it tells others who are thinking of making disgusting verbal attacks in public that they’ll lose out, big time if they do.
Sol Campbell handled this with the utmost dignity as an athlete and I adore him! I just don’t understand how the Tottenham fans could be heard at all over the Fratton Faithful?! Thankfully this didn’t start a riot. Play up Pompey, play up!!!

About time those idiots and poor excuses for football fans to be punished, Sol has been brilliant for Portsmouth and is an model professional.

  7. Racist, misogynist and HIV-hostile slurs were also yelled at Sol; Is this not worthy of mention in the headline?

  8. Jorial, to be fair the brunt of it was largely homophobic. But yes, it was all horrific.

Fine them, ban them, set a precedent that you can’t get away with this kind of thing. It’s EXTREMELY unpleasant and not necessary. Chants have got more OTT in recent years, some are really in bad spirit. Why are these people so angry all the time? That’s what I want to know. Why is a 14 year old BOY so angry and judgemental? Or is he just copying his parents/family?
