  1. What on earth is this idiot on about; the Nazi’s murdered Gay people; they hated us as much as they hated Poles, Jews and Gypsies!!! This is a complete insult to the memory of those killed in the holocaust!

  2. “Such people will not inherit the kingdom of God (1Cor.6:10).” I can only say that if there’s a chance I might run into the likes if Ian Watson I’ll gladly pass. All of eternity with bigots like that sounds like Hell to me.

  3. There seem to be so many idiots like Ian Watson being documented on these pages AND visiting these pages that I really couldn’t be bothered to read beyond the first couple of paragraphs.

I reckon that Ian Watson’s outburst has arisen from his battle with his own personal problems.

  4. So any prevalent opinion that Ian Watson doesn’t like is now tantamount to the 3rd reich?
Well, if we started rounding up all gay rights dissentors within the church and forced them into labour camps he might be onto something, but I think the right wing bigotry element is pretty much with him. We’re not asking him to completely ditch his faith… that’s his own paranoid projection.

The email address for Kirkmuirhill Church in Lanark is kirkmuirhillchurch@btinternet.com

Drop them a line to let them know what you think of their ‘reverend’

I emailed them asking them to confirm whether he was a paedophile. I think this is a reasonable question considering that priests and reverends are statistically far more likely to be sex offenders than any other occupation.

  6. Simon Murphy 13 May 2009, 12:53pm

Email the f*cker to tell him what you think of him. Far too often religious extremists like Watson and Iris Robinson live in a bubble without any idea of the impact their religious extremism has on other people. They live as well respected citizens among their small, extremist communities with no idea of the larger world. When they engage in hatespeech (and especially when they claim their hatespeech is justified by ‘god’ it is wise to give them a rude wake up call. Email this Watson extremist at kirkmuirhillchurch@btinternet.com to tell him what you think of him and his ‘god’.

  7. Ian is a little drama queen!!

  8. Simon Murphy 13 May 2009, 1:07pm

He is such a good advertisement for all that is bigotted and hateful and extremist and dishonest about organised religion.

  9. What a plonker this idiot is. Maybe he’d like to go back to living under a rock in a dark cave, after all, its clearly where he’s come from given his total ignorance of the world today.

  10. As Christopher Hitchens might say, Rev. Watson’s argument does not demand debate, only repetition.

  11. You and your evangelicals are the Nazis! How dare you use the title ‘Reverend’ There is nothing ‘reverend’ about you Mr Watson and your Christian Church of hatred and discrimination! Heterosexual Males are the Nazis on this planet!

  12. Brian Burton 13 May 2009, 1:45pm

The point is: 80% of the Gay Minister’s congregation support him. There is bound to be opposition from some quarters. Playing the NAZI card is logically a sign of defeat for the decenters. No creadence should be given to Simon Murphy’s ‘Anti Religious Fobia!’ either.

  13. I have sent the following email to Watson’s church:
What an evil man Watson is. He is so unchristian that he will go straight to hell when he dies. May that be soon!

  14. Simon Murphy 13 May 2009, 2:10pm

Bigots like this ‘reverend’ shows beyond all doubt why religious people need to be monitored and condemned loudly whenever they start promoting intolerance. Make no mistake – this god-botherer Watson also believes that homosexuality should be recriminalised. Religion is by its very nature irrational and undemocratic and needs to be constantly monitored in their campaigns to demomise and criminalise those who do not share their worldview.

Brian Burton has admitted to being a god-botherer so his opinions on the matter should be considered with that in mind.

  15. Bunk like this beggars belief in 2009.

I said to Mr Scott Rennie in an earlier thread, DUMP THE BLEEDIN’ LOT and go and do something else..

There is a reason to go marching and martyring yourself in Moscow; gays have no acknowledgement in law there and need to know that they are not alone.
Here (U.K) there is no need for all this.
Watson should be proscuted under the law which he is flagrantly in breach of.
Why is this not the case?

  16. Simon Murphy 13 May 2009, 2:20pm

Watson shouldn’t be prosecuted for expressing his hateful, bigotted opinions. Being opposed to human rights and equality and democracy (like so many christians and muslims are) is not a crime. People like Watson need to be condemned loudly whenever they start trying to undermine demoacracy and human rigts using their absurd belief systems as justification for it.

  17. Well, I’m delighted to have been allowed to witness one of the most ridiculous analogies ever! Obviously, without any knowledge about the ideals that Nazism advocates, this buffoon required the most extreme comparison he could think of – as is a favourite emotive method, lacking in reason, of the religious community – in order to espouse hatred and get attention. Instead of supports of gay people *actually* being like Nazis, he uses the comparison just so he can make the mildly racist comment that we’re as weak as the yellow-bellied French! A truly hilarious and pathetic joke by a deluded individual who must surely be ridiculed by all who hear the bile that flows from the cesspit-like hole in his face.

  18. Religions of all faiths are based on stories made up hundreds if not thousands of years ago as a means of controlling people and extracting money from them. None of them are based on any facts and therefore have no relevance to real life. People who follow religions are merely ‘hedging their bets’. It would be nice if we ,but especially the media, would simply ignore them and thereby leave them in no doubt that their views and beliefs have no meaning and are simply preposterous.

  19. Clearly this guy has little or no knowledge of History or, it seems, of Christianity. A nasty small-minded little man who would rather, it seems, peddle hate than love, condemnation rather than understanding, and that great love of bigots – sticking their noses into other people’s business.

And to HAR DAVIDS – I think you can safely risk going to Heaven, people like Mr Watson will be …. elsewhere!!

  20. Wow, WHAT a moron. I can’t believe anyone listens to these crackpots anymore. He shouldn’t even be getting this publicity, the man clearly has the morals of a sewer rat.

  21. Brian Burton 13 May 2009, 3:53pm

Simon Murphy wants you all to ‘Spoon Feed’ his phsycotic ramblings by condeming Christians across the board. 80% agree with the Gay Minister, Simon Murphy is looking to you to feed his insane fobia for all Chistians.

  22. That is so shockingly offensive; I feel sick. I think what he said is WORSE than holocuast denial and there are laws against that.

  23. Simon Murphy 13 May 2009, 4:17pm

Brian Burton – are you able to read or has your belief in your unproveable ‘god’ removed your sense of reason?

I understand that you choose to be a christian (which is fine so long as you don’t impose your cult’s beliefs on anyone else)

I don’t condemn christians across the board – just the evil, oppressive, hateful, intolerant ones who want to pervert democracy by imposing their superstitious beliefs on everyone in society irrespective of whether they’re part of the cult or not.

Surely you agree with that. If not then you must accept the right of members of the muslim cult to impose sharia law on us all.

Why is it that despite religions claims to be loving that most wars throughout history have been fought in the name of ‘god’. ‘God’ sounds like a right violent bastard.

  24. Simon Murphy 13 May 2009, 4:21pm

And let’s not forget that if this Scottish ‘reverend’ uses the bible to justify his bigotry then he must also support slavery; the ‘right’ of a husband to rape his wife; and the right of a husband to murder his wife if she commits adultery.

    The bible tolerates these things.

Do you reject rape and murder Brian Burton? If you do then how can you call yourself a christian?

  25. AnthonyfromAyrshire 13 May 2009, 4:26pm

This wanker is from Lanark, so he’s already in Hell!

  26. Watson can’t even get his history correct. It was nothing at all to do with the French having no stomach to fight. Anything he says from there on in is just absolute rubbish.

  27. Brian Burton 13 May 2009, 4:59pm

Ramble on Simon, No one is listening to you. They will only listen to the voice of reason! and thats not you by any means.

  28. #16

    SIMON MURPHY.

    Clear something up for me..?

    You say that…

    ” Watson shouldn’t be prosecuted for…”

    …and a little further on you say…

“Being opposed to human rights and equality and democracy (like so many christians and muslims are) is not a crime.”

Not with you on those two negatives, ‘not prosecuted’ and ‘not a crime.’
    Just clarify, please?

And we’ve just sent the following to that email address, Simon. Thought you might like to know!
    P&C.

    Hello,

The following 21 comments have been left on just ONE internet forum so far today after people have read about your Mr. Ian Watson and his outrageously comparing supporters of an openly gay minister to Nazis.

I thought I would just copy and paste people’s feelings here for you so that you might understand how extraordinarily out of touch your Mr. Ian Watson is.

In our opinion, the man clearly has psychological problems.

We urge that he makes a very contrite public apology to the media without delay.

    Keith,
Do’nt be daft lad, Our Simon is living in cloud cookoo land and thrashing around like a demented, petulant school boy! HE HAS NO ANSWERS.

  32. Kevin, I think the software gets in a twist. You must have given it reason to believe that you posted that particular message already. One way round this when it happens is to right-click your mouse in the box and select the “Back” option, check everything’s OK, and then re-send.

  33. Brian, have often thought you have sounded very reasonable and sane . . . but if you don’t see that Simon and the rest of us who have posted here today are rational and correct, then I’m disappointed. We’re talking about arrant hatred of homosexual men and women. We HAVE to root it out. Smack it on the head INSTANTLY and HARD!

Keith, you’re right of course. We have this raft of equality legislation but where is the will to force it on the prejudiced masses. It’s tough. Same as fox-hunting – tough for the authorities to be “out there” monitoring everybody. What we have to do is create a contagious reaction amongst the good folks in society, so that people fear the reaction of their peers should they dare to spout their hatred of homosexuals and homosexuality.

Either we are equal and respected as totally bloody equal or we accept being, in their eyes, as shit. Full stop.

  34. Brian Burton 13 May 2009, 7:11pm

    Eddy,
Sorry, but what I cannot understand is, on the one hand Simon tells me I am free to belive in what I want. Then on the other hand, he roundly condems my belifes. Also, I cannot stand by whilst he uses any excuse to castigate my religion. I explained that in my opinion, 80% support for the Gay Minister by his congregation is defeat for the person who played the Nazi card. So, am I wrong to defend that position?

  35. A worthy comment from the Economist Aug 2007 relating to Godwins Law:

“Nazi” and “apartheid” are strong words that should be used sparingly and precisely out of their original context—and probably not at all. (A good rule in most discussions is that the first person to call the other a Nazi automatically loses the argument.)

I think most reasonable people recognize this, which is why Ian Watson & his Bee & his Bonnet may find they are painting themselves into a (rather tastelessly decorated) corner!

Is that a brown suit he’s wearing, with his beige tie in his beige church hall, lit by rather yellow fluorescent lighting? What an exciting life he must lead! Imagining hordes of Nazi homosexuals storming is church is probably as exciting as it gets for him, poor man!

  36. F**k all religions!

  37. @Rob Fox

Good to see someone else here reads the ongoing product of the late, great Walter Bageot.

With me, it’s expressions such as “Nu Labour”, “political correctness” and “strident atheist” that make me realise that boring, unoriginal and shallow, whining idiocy is about to assault me.

  38. He’s probably talking about his internal battles and conflicts as a closet gay man.

  39. Pumpkin Pie 14 May 2009, 10:27am

    Somebody should poop on him.

Hey, and if any of you guys get responses to your emails, let us know! I’m thinking of using GuerrillaMail.com to bombard him with creepy “I KNOW WHAT YOU DID” emails. :D

  40. I’m wondering if a “flash-mob” style protest in this guy’s kirk one Sunday morning might be a nice protest. Seeing as he’s started this, let’s bring it to his home turf.

    EXACTLY..!

They’re all protesting too much about something which shouldn’t be of any interest to them at all.
They should be directing their Christian anger at the poverty of those in Africa not worrying themselves witless about what Cyril and Cecil do in bed…and behind closed fookin’ doors at that.

This pope is just such another one.

Did anyone see ITN news on May 8th of the pope coming down the steps of his aircraft on arrival in Jordan…?

Definitely a change of tailor, there..!

I have never seen such a full, billowing skirt, swish, swish, swish as the wind caught the folds of the garment; fair billowing!

And I could not believe my eyes, 10 seconds later, when his PA, Ganschwein, rushed up behind him, AND from some yards away, from the other side of a column of dignitaries, in order to flick the errant part of his (the pope’s) small white cape from off his (the pope’s) right shoulder.
The wind had caught it and it had blown up behind his ear and got stuck as he descended the plane’s steps.

That is something that is just ‘not done’.

Well, certainly not by two straight men..

    Certainly not two dignitaries..

‘Just a minute, luvvie, yer tie’s crooked’

That says ‘Mr. and Mrs.’ to me…!
That’s flickin’ imaginary dandruff off the beloved’s shoulders before he sets off to work in the morning…to me.

Camp as Fanny’s back door, the lot of ‘em..!

    ‘People-watching..!’
Nothing like it for getting to know wot’s wot in this life.

  43. This hate filled campaign against Scott Rennie is getting worse. It is a like a baying mob of thugs all lining up to take a kick at him. Really is shocking, esp in Scotland 2009. It is more like Salem 1692.

Scott Rennie’s honesty and quiet demeanour contrast markedly with the frothing, Phelps-esque behaviour of these evangie types. I suppose you are aware of the campaign against him:

    http://www.confessingchurch.org.uk

There is a big list of signatories, many of whom are probably ordinary people encouraged by their homophobic clerics. “Good people doing evil – that takes religion”

  44. Hee, hee, hee, LOL, Keith. I missed that. Wished I’d seen it. I think I would have seen the same as you.

Let me tell you a similar story.

In the days of my foolish belief in the imaginary I used to work in a shop that amongst other things supplied the clergy with vestments. There was a row of holy machinists upstairs who churned out vestments 9 to 5. All married women, expert on the Singer.

Anyway, the story is this. In comes this old priest one day, and says he wants to order a new cloak for Benediction. Now for those readers who have no knowledge of Benediction cloaks, these are full-length affairs, shoulder to floor, involving an elaborate silver or gold and often bejewelled clasp at the neck to hold the cloak in the place, and the fabric is always wondrously glittery of itself and often on top of it there is, in addition, much elaborate embroidery or further encrusting with paste-jewels (fakes). If you’ve never seen such a thing yourself, then just think beautiful costumes in your Christmas panto or at the ballet, and you’ve got the idea.

Anyway, said priest spends about an hour pouring over the catalogue selecting what he wants.

One month later in he comes to collect the finished product. I escort him to a changing room. I bring to him on a coat-hanger the gorgeous cloak created for him by the machinists upstairs. I draw the curtain closed and leave him to inspect the thing, try it on etc.

HALF AN HOUR LATER, Keith, the bugger is still in there, not even popped his head out to ask a question. I have a word with the manager. What’s he up to, we wonder.

I approach the changing-room and peer inside and this is what I see.

The priest is swirling slowly in front of the full-length mirror, admiring himself in the Benediction cloak. Fucking transfixed. Like a little girl pretending it’s her wedding day and she’s in a wedding dress.

BUT HE IS WEARING IT INSIDE OUT!

The silly priest was so transfixed with the sight of himself swathed head-to-toe in gold fabric that he had forgotten that his expensive cloak had an inside and an outside!

You see, the inside is all beautiful gold fabric as well – while the outside is the same gold fabric but garnished with stunning stitching and jewels etc.

I step in and diplomatically advise our member of the clergy that I might help him just re-arrange the cloak a little. “Oh?” he says, wide-eyed. I gently take it off his shoulders, turn it the correct way, put it back on his shoulders, and then leave him to himself again.

HALF AN HOUR LATER he finally comes out and says in a very businesslike manner that yes, it’ll do and would I please quickly wrap it up and charge him accordingly as he’s in a hurry!!!!

As far as I was concerned this said it all.

Keith, I haven’t thought of this extraordinary event since observing Fat-Pig Carey’s get-up in St. Paul’s for Diana’s wedding!

  45. Brian Burton 14 May 2009, 11:54am

    Eddy, Keith,
That Homophobe from the (Gay Cure page) David Skinner is plying his Gay hatred tactics again. I saw him on the Canterbury thread.

  46. Hi, Brian. Yes, I’ve just noticed him. He must have been away in some workshop somewhere getting repaired. Isn’t it Cardiff where they do all the dalek maintenance these days? You’ld think the repair people there would not only get the hardware back into good shape but cast a quick eye over what programs are installed. It wouldn’t take them a minute to erase that garbage-spouting thing he’s got installed on his system.

  47. What a fool the Rev is! Not only has he said something offensive and ridiculous about gays he has also demonstrated what a lamentable grasp of history he has by insulting the entire French nation. Rather more to European history and the invasion of France than a belief that it was all down to French having ‘no stomach for a fight. Ah well – so much for the Auld Alliance between the Scots and the French!

It all feeds into the psyche of that certain kind of little girly boy, the pansy, the nancy (me) that either goes later into the Church a la Carey/Ratzinger…or the theatre, a la… well, most of them, really, from Gielgud and Richardson to Graham Norton… with Kenny Williams, Charlie Hawtry, Frankie Howard, Larry Grayson, Julian Clary and so many more along the way.

The difference is that the the theatricals accept it, laugh at themselves even, and make us laugh along too.

Yes, young Brian, just had a wander to the ‘Canterbury ..’ site.

    It’s like I thought.

That correspondent, no names no pack-drill, is not worth the bullet.
He’s just another closet fairy, else why would he be on these PINKNEWS pages…?

More to the point, he has no influence over the minds of others much, really.
That is to say, he is emminently dismissable and forgettable.

Unlike our friend IAN WATSON and all the other hate-mongering clerics in their pulpits and the quacks (Dr.Narcosi..?) of all persuasions, from Rome to Rochdale.

It is for them that I reserve my ‘comment'(?!)…going back 50 years.
“It is an illness…leading to intrinsically moral acts…it can be cured…here, plug yourself in with these…”

    My fookin’ arse..!
    BASTARDS!!!
    OUT ‘N’ OUT BASTARDS!!

It was that article about Dr. Narcolepsi recently, that started me off on these pages.
But I can only spew my bile out on these charlatans because they affected me, personally, when I was very vulnerable as a kid; I do not want any kids today to go tho’ what I did; there is no need today, anyway.
Today, young people, you just get on your pins and shout “FOOK OFF TO HELL.”
In my day, you deferred to higher beings…to Father O’ Clodge-Piece and ‘orforrity’..and festooned yer fookin’ head with electric cable..for fook’s sake.!

    Shite!

  52. Keith, so glad you enjoyed that memory of mine. Precious, isn’t it. But as you say so totally typical to some degree or other of all of them. And I mean that. I knew those in the clergy who were determined to cleanse themselves of all the theatrical. What destructiveness they wrought in certain old churches and homes, trying to create a clean and pure place of worship with no decoration in sight. But there remained the same preciousness about them. Better to give it free reign in theatre, as you say, and not apologise for it.

So glad you noticed the outrageousness of “the bit where YOU have to wrap it QUICKLY because HE is in A HURRY…!??!”. Yep, exactly. It was like having had sex with some English Tory public-school closeted-gentleman in a suit, suddenly all haigh and maighty, tight-lipped and “Awfully sorrair, must dairsh, good-bay”.

Had a bleedin’ Tory bitch local-candidate at my gate last night. Hilarious. It’s pretty wet but I was in the garden. They didn’t see me. The car pulls up, doors swing open, and then I hear them working out who lives in the house and rehearsing the names – the, eeeek, two male names. Yes, I heard them grappling with the fact that the two names were male! Then out they traipse and I pop up and surprise them, didn’t let them beyond the gate. She was an incarnation of Margaret Thatcher.

  55. Vicki Morley 30 May 2009, 5:06pm

A group of people who served only to be inherently discriminatory and to heartlessly murder innocent people who they saw as ‘lesser’ human beings – and supporters who argue that, in the name of God’s undivided love, the church should accept and show understanding to all people regardless of who they fall in love with.

    Yes the parallels are clear.

  56. WTF is this idiot talking about? He failed to explain how support of the gay clergy correlates with the French and the Nazis. I thought preachers had to be educated–this guy is a moron (and like someone said previously: a buffoon). So Mr. Watson (I will not use the title rev. because you are NOT a man of God). YOU are the nazi! You also look like you might be gay.
The French knew that a war with Germany would prove futile against an enemy that was 3 to 4 times their military strength. Why didn’t you Scottish, allegedly christian pussies go in and back France up? Then there would have been no WWII. Maybe then, your father would have been taken out and not produced a fool like you. I hope some French guy flattens your ugly pinocchio nose (probably Gods punishment for lying so much).
