The Russians have never lived in the past nor the future. Their ‘present’ is still to live the political fantasies they have always aspired to since the 1917 revolution. Those Cambridge educated British traitors Burgess and McLean who fled to Moscow in the late 1950s. McLean ended up (with Moscow’s knollage) living with a male musition in that city.
