I never knew this person – but it’s the many people like this who stick their neck out and play their part, who help the Cause. We cannot do without them. Comrade, thank-you and farewell…
I hope his life was as happy as his accomplishments were great.
I am very sad to have read of Stephen’s death.
Three specific memories.
My first ever gay party, where all the divinity students wore frocks, ate cod roe on toast, and sipped champagne.
Second, Stephen dyeing his hair in accordance with the ecclesiastical season.
Third, Stephen genuflecting and crossing himself in front of the statue of John Knox in the quad of New College, the to scandal of all the Presbyterians.
