Miley’s right when she says Jesus loves gay people. Jesus does love them, just as a father loves his children, but that doesn’t mean that what they are doing is pleasing to Him. Love doesn’t=acceptance of whatever one does.

  2. What a babe. Go Miley!! That is not to denigrate Miss California, who has been ridiculously penalised (from an admittedly naff and sexist contest) for airing what, to her, is a genuine belief formed from her own life experiences, of which we have no insight into. Whatever we may think of her opinion, our knee-jerk reaction these days is to lash out hysterically and to vilify such air-headed ignorance instead of letting such perceived insults speak for themselves. Indeed, I am finding it increasingly more difficult logging onto Pink News and the like as most (non) stories now are seemingly devoted to the hurt feelings of Apprentice contestants and gay couples turned away from B&B’s in Blackpool, making us come across like a seething mass of whingers and “poor me” victims. In fact, I have a theory that the increase in hate crime directed towards the gays is correlated to the community’s mass conversion to political correctness as the new religion, and its tendency to kick its feet and shout at scream at the slightest provocation, which is then gleefully picked up by the press as an example of how gays are out to destroy freedom of speech for everyone else while exercising the right to say what they like. And I’m sorry, guys, but rejoicing in laws that purport to protect our sensibilities but which are really intended to police and criminalise thought only enables the stealthful march towards the fully-fledged police state which is emerging by the day. The drip drip implementation of hate speech legislation, inane health & safety rules, no smoking laws..et al are designed to collectively remove freedom of thought from the people, thereby giving more power to our corrupt politicians and their heavies to control us. Getting hysterical every time someone displays their ignorance towards gays is not going to change hardened homophobic attitudes in the general population, and just distances us even further from our ultimate objective of being accepted unconditionally into the mainstream. Let the ignorant slurs of bigots speak for themselves – we don’t need to perpetuate the endless cycle of hatred by displaying our own intolerance towards their ignorance, however incendiary or unpalatable it may seem. So, Pink News, can you please stop whipping your visitors up into a frenzy of hysteria with these ridiculous non-stories, and let’s see some proper news on these pages for a change!

  3. @Codex

Don’t like Pink News? Well stick to this website.

  4. Thanks Dave, a fine demonstration that ignorance is not confined to bigoted heteros! All I am saying is that our battle cannot be won by fighting intolerance with intolerance (i.e. our intolerence in not allowing others to express their opinions in what is/was, until recently, a free and open society). We do not need laws passed on our behalf on the pretext of protecting our feelings when really we are aiding the control freaks who wield such Orwellian measures as a means of exerting authority and power over the population. Ignorance hangs itself by its own petard; by reacting and stepping into attack mode each time we lower ourselves to the same level and in effect become those we seek to attack (i.e. intolerant of others’ views, which our hysteria will do nothing to alter but will only provide bait for them to continue and for others to join their unsavoury ranks). Consider how valuable police time is being wasted interrogating people alleged to have said something that could be construed as offensive to a gay person? Could we be contributing to soaring crime rates because our PC police are getting distracted from solving serious crimes? Where will this madness? We were winning the battle before all this PC hysteria crept in to supposedly do our bidding! But we are beginning to step over the line into dangerous territory now, where our actions are doing more to provoke impatience and loathing than anything else, and that could well explain the increasing attacks on gay people that seemingly go hand in hand with news items on these pages that are seemingly designed to stir up the “hysteria brigade”. The fact that 2800 gay men are HIV converting each year IS big news; an off-the-cuff remark by an Apprentice contestant expressing an opinion most certainly isn’t so let’s get some perspective on this people!! If she was calling for attacks on gays that would be a very different story, but her comment was based on such naivety and ignorance as to be laughable, so take a deep breath and just CHILL….

    #1 Erin Colette:

I don’t believe that Jesus loves gay people.

I don’t believe in Jesus and I regard him as an entirely fictional character. Seeing as the fictional character of Jesus never once mentions homosexuality in the novel in which he appears (the Bible that is) then it is wrong to make claims about what a fictional character believes about people he never mentions.

  6. Sister Mary Clarence 23 Apr 2009, 6:33pm

Codex, I have to agree with quite a lot of the stuff you’ve said when you’ve gone off on a tangent, but the problem is that you have gone off at a tangent.

The issue here isn’t about political correctness, its about a woman, who with about as much limelight as is ever going to shine down on her, with the eyes and the ears of world watching and listening, stating quite clearly that she doesn’t believe in equality.

She was well aware that she would offend, her comments before the statement show that there was a little something inside that big ol’ empty head of hers that knew deep down she’d be pissing people of with those comments. She said what she said because she thought she’d be making a statement, none of that world peace crap, but a real statement that she believed in something, in an attempt for people to see here more that just some vacuous airhead parading around near naked with her pants half way up the crack of her arse.

There is nothing PC about any of this, its just some poor stupid girl, that’s just bright enough to know that 99% of the world doesn’t think that ‘beauty pageant’ actually qualifies as an occupation, trying to elevate her standing in front of the world. Unfortunately she’s just realised why most of them just smile and mutter world peace. All credit to her for trying to raise her standing, but at the end of the day total halfwit.

  7. Miley says, “Jesus loves you AND your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! thats like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz hes gay and that is WRONG and very sad! like I said everyone deserves to be happy.”

Here is a 16 year old who knows the answers to one of the most
serious topics in today’s debates. How many times has she read
the Holy Bible? Who is her mentor who can help her understand
difficult Christian issues? Does she study the
Bible regularly and consult Bible experts who’ve studied it
for 40-50 years, speak, read, write 5-6 ancient languages regarding Biblical research? I’m sure she’s pretty ignorant
of the truths in the Holy Bible. She should stick to the
entertainment world and leave the bibical research, meaning,
and understanding of the Holy Bible to those who know what
    tbey’re talking about.

  8. Mary Clarence, you say, ” Miss Claiforina is just some poor stupid girl, … and at the end of the day total halfwit.”

Where do you place Miley as to stupidity and being a total halfwit? I’m not sure she’s qualified to make heard her
opinion and more acceptable than Miss California.

The discussion and debate on homosexuality is better left to
those who are qualified to present facts, studies, research, etc.
    rather than their opinions.

  9. I love Miley and Billy Ray. But, this does not mean she supports gay marriage. She states that “Jesus loves all people whether their gay or not.” This is very well said. Jesus by no means hates gays- He hates the sin, not the sinner.
I totally agree with everything Miley says, and personally, I do not support same-sex marriage- simply because it is in the Bible. It is an abombination to the Lord and God in no way condones it. What Miley says, however, is totally true, everyone should be happy, but they shouldn’t go against what God’s word says.
I’m sure Miley knows this as well, since I know she’s a great young lady and Christian, because I know her.
    THANKS MILEY FOR LOVING GOD!

  10. Hank, do YOU study the bible and consult experts in your simplistic interpretations? If you did, you would know that the texts that are usually used to vilify gays in your book of myths, have been totally misinterpreted. These verses in fact are directed at temple prostitution among “heathen” believers and have nothing whatsoever to do with loving same-sex couples. People in glass houses, yada yada yada ….. Unfortunately you live in a gospel gulag where you have been lobotomised to believe in bronze age suspertitions, and are too stupid to see this.

  11. Let’s skim over the pillocks who are brining this into a fact Vs fiction debate on Jesus.

It’s a star coming out and saying that religion is not based on hate but love – which we all know anyway.

    :)

  12. Yo Ken, ,,,yes, I do Bible study daily, 2-3 hours and
have numerous experts that I read when I don’t understand
    something in the Bible.

You say, “you would know that the texts that are usually used to vilify gays in your book of myths, have been totally misinterpreted. These verses in fact are directed at temple prostitution among “heathen” believers and have nothing whatsoever to do with loving same-sex couples”

Where in the world did you get such nonsense? There’s more
than ample evidence on where God stands on homosexuality. I
suggest you read and study the Bible before you make such
an outrageous statement as you did.

Homosexuality and the Bible (check out the references if you
    doubt any of this)

The Bible is the Christian sacred text, regarded as the ultimate authority by all denominations. (But not by heathens such as you but for some reason you do refer to the Holy Bible in your comment)

Sexual behavior is discussed in the Old Testament and the New Testament. While the New Testament is the specifically Christian part of the Bible, both parts are regarded as equally authoritative.

The following passages are those that are generally considered relevant to the Christian discussion of homosexuality, quoted from the NIV translation in the order they appear in the Bible.

God blessed Adam and Eve and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground. (Genesis 1:28) (Male and female
were specifically created for a sexual relationship)

Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. (Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Leviticus 20:13)

No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute. (Deuteronomy 23:17)

There were even male shrine prostitutes in the land; the people engaged in all the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. (1 Kings 14:24)

For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it. (Matthew 19:12)

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. (Romans 1:25-27)

Ken, if you want to live a homosexual lifestyle, I don’t hate you for it, but don’t expect me to acquiesce to the homosexual agenda
as you people try to force your demands on the majority of society.

May God Bless You And Give You Peace You Children Of Pink. The Peace I Am Talking About Is ‘The Peace That Passes All Understanding.’ Now Go About Your Daily Lives And Please Look For The Good In People And Not The Bad–Amen.

  14. Brian Burton 25 Apr 2009, 3:16pm

I am just glag that a pretty young thing like Miley is batting for Gays anyway. At least it’s not that great, ugly Concervative (who excusess were made for) saying Gays were sexual deviants. Just wait, when the Concervatives get into office, what’s the betting their pro-gay agenda will become anti! But I have said before, swamp all Parties with Gay candidates for election.

  15. General question to all — and I’m serious with my question

Why do you think fundamental Christians (I’mn not
talking about weird, fanatical hate groups, etc) oppose the activist homosexual agenda? I’m talking about followers of
Jesus Christ — not simply people who call themselves Christians.
    They’re a world of difference that most non-believers don’t
    understand.

I think this could open a serious discussion and get to the
“root” of the problem of the homosexual problem in the USA and
I’d like to have an intellectual discussion with a person that
can look at the issue with an open mind.

  16. I think it’s a free country and people should do whatever they want to do. What goes on in their private life is none of anybody’s business. So all the religious bigots should quit making judgement calls and learn to accept people for what they are rather than antagonise homosexuals. I am not gay, but some of my close friends are – and you know what, I couldn’t care less about their sexual preference.

There should be some law against religious narrow-minded uneducated sexist and homophobic bigots.

  17. @ Hank

Who gave YOU the right to call Heathens? Do you even know what the history of the Holy Bible is? The Bible is a compilation of 66 books written by over 40 people over a period of 1600 years. The other banned documents were banned merely because they did not agree to the gospel truth that the “agreed” books purported to convey.

You being the narrow-minded person you are, will dismiss this as rubbish – but it is in fact true and you may cross check this with your so called “experts” and if they are indeed experts, they will tell you it is true. Have YOU even heard of the Book of Enoch, the Gospel of Mary or the Protovangelion of Jesus? There are hundreds of such books which disagree with the Holy Bible as it stands today.

In any case, I am not here to disprove the religion or anybody’s faith in God. Belief is personal – to each their own and I respect it. Quit passing judgements on people merely because they disagree with what you believe is the truth.

And even if what you were saying is the truth, how on earth does it affect you? If God hates sinners, let him hate them – according to you, He still loves you – learn to accept that and move on with your life rather than being stuck on something which in the first place you had no business butting your head in because no one wanted your opinion.

Quit trying to make the world a “better place”. It’s as good as it is right now and will definitely get better if idiots like you stop making their baseless judgements on others.

P.S – If you intended the word Heathens in a derogatory way, you may want to retract it. I know you won’t know or accept this, but most of the practices that you think are Christian, are in fact derived from the so called Heathen (Pagan) religions including the celebration of Christmas!

Clearly you need a lot more education than what you’ve received so far. Unless you know what you’re talking about, kindly SHUT UP!

  18. @ Hank

“I’m talking about followers of Jesus Christ”

Did he appear in person and ask you to follow him?

Or is that more like “following” as in “stalking”?!

Perhaps your attentions have become unwelcome, Hank, maybe you should ask him!

  19. @Hank: “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. (Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Leviticus 20:13)” Speak with your experts about what it meant to the ancient Israelites to lie with a man as with a woman. If you study the Bible two to three hours a day, then you must be a very slow learner.

The other verses you quoted, except for the one that made reference to Eunuchs, condemn idolatry. Sex was an integral part of worshipping various idols, hence prostitution flourished at such places of worship.

As for Miley allegedly being ignorant, I want to know first at what age someone suddenly becomes intelligent enough for you. Have you also not heard that children will teach us God’s laws? Did that turn up in your study of the Bible?

Have you understood what the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and His work since Genesis mean? Did Jesus want thousands of American teenagers to take their own lives each year?

Do you also understand that the command to bring the earth under human control was given in the garden of Eden. We live in a completely different world now, and it is out of control because of human overpopulation. Animals do not overbreed unless human beings become involved and yet people choose to have far too many children for these dangerous times.

Go back to God, ask Him to help you study the Bible, rather than your so-called experts. God is the ultimate expert. “You search the scriptures for in them you think you will find life.”

  20. Ashley in the USA 27 Apr 2010, 5:35am

I’m confused – @Hank, why are you even here? Why are you reading something on Pink News? Why are you commenting on it? Is it just to preach at the “godless heathens”? Since you’re throwing around Scripture, let’s take a look at a few more. Do people forget Matthew 7:1-2 – “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you”? Do people just ignore Luke 6:37 – “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven”? Or better yet, John 8:7 – “When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, ‘If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her'”? I’m so sick of people only using the parts of the Bible that are convenient for them!

I’m not perfect and I’m well aware that I’m a “sinner” in various ways, but NO ONE is without sin except Jesus himself – NO ONE is infallible! It is God’s place to judge and no one else’s – for even if we do not commit the same sins, no one has the right to decide which sins are “worse” or any other such nonsense. So you – and any other who would condemn another human being – would do well to remember: “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.” – Romans 2:1
