and gays were comparatively safe under the SH regime: nice to see our liberation and democratisation has had such positive results!

We’re re-established a primitive semifeudal government, and all the profit has gone to the US, so we can’t even say we did it for resources. Nor is there peace or civilisation

We put this islamic shia government in.We ousted Saddam based on Bush lies. Now they kill queers legally. Disgusting Disgusting Disgusting. Why is our governmnet not condemning this? Gays are expendable thats why we don`t really matter in the big picture.Well I say it`s time we made them listen.

  3. Welcome to the paradise without Saddam. Oh, wait, not even close. Isn’t it horrible to think that it’s even worse?

If there is any truth to this, maybe Jacqui Smith needs to hear about it and perhaps she may think twice when she states that asylum seeker from the middle east do not have a well-grounded fear of persecution or possible execution just for being gay if they keep a low profile. What a disgusting situation. I hope her replacment in the next tory government will do a better job, though I’ll hold my breath on that one. I suspect it will be more of the same, entrenched homophobia trounces common decency and respect for human rights.

Horrible to say but if Saddam were alive the situation in Iraq would be FAR better for queer people. Then again I suppose when 2 christian fundamentalists (Bush and Blair) decided to listen to the voices in their heads and invade Iraq (which posed zero threat to the world)then the conseuqences for queers would be disastrous.

Sounds like the British government has its head way up its ass!

  7. Don’t expect anything much from Jacqui Smith (UK Home Office Minister and she also overseas the odious UK Border Agency). She is too busy filing her expenses claims! She is a disastrous Home Secretary – not fit for one of the 3 most important ministerial jobs in UK. If she had any kind of honour she would have resigned by now.

This is genocide…its time for iraq and the rest of the world to know, emphatically, you say genocide against us…we are going to go after you…your free killing is over.

  9. But Islam means peace!

  10. Could not agree more with ron753! I have written to Ms Smith twice protesting against LGBT deportations; got a silly badly photocopied unsigned leter back saying my points were noted! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!

Turns my stomach. Why are we so helpless in situations like these?
