A man seriously injured by an attack that left his partner dead is still in a critical condition in hospital.

This Is Local London reports that Chris Bevan, 56, who was stabbed several times on March 3rd, is recovering from injuries to his internal organs in a south London hospital.

Mr Bevan, who worked as a nurse, lost his partner Gerry Edwards in the late-night attack at their home in Page Heath Villas, Bickley.

David Kilcullen, 46, of The Avenue, Bickley, was charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the incident and is to appear at the Old Bailey on June 15th.

The newspaper also reported that the couple’s flat was damaged by fire last week while forensic teams were still working on it.

Police confirmed the flat caught fire on Monday, March 9th but would not state the cause of the blaze or whether it destroyed evidence. No one was hurt.
