Court told gay man was burnt to death by ex-boyfriend
Kingston Crown Court has been told the final moments of a gay man who was doused in petrol and set alight outside his home.
Charlie Davies, 23, was attacked on June 14th last year. He died 12 days later in hospital.
The court heard how a neighbour of Mr Davis was walking past his house in Templedene Avenue, Staines, when she heard him scream.
She turned around to see him on fire and a man in a hood fleeing down an alleyway. Other neighbours rushed to help, telling Mr Davies to roll on the floor.
The neighbour said she had seen the hooded man in an alleyway near by moments before the attack.
The court was told that his face was mostly covered but the witness said she could see a small part of his skin which she believed was white, unlike the Asian defendent.
His ex-boyfriend Nadim Kurrimbukus, 25, of Heath Road, Hounslow, who is also known as Adam, and Yusuf Dulloo, 27, of Ashton Gardens, Hounslow, are on trial at Kingston Crown Court.
The prosecution has claimed that Kurrimbukus killed Mr Davies in a revenge attack after they split up.
It is claimed that Kurrimbukus filled the lock on Mr Davies’ front door with superglue and laid in wait for him. He then poured petrol over his head, setting him on fire, it is alleged.
Both Mr Kurrimbukus and Mr Dulloo deny charges of arson and murder.
The case continues.
