  1. Oh, yes, because if gays are allowed the same rights as everyone else…then boom! Everyone turns gay! Even the evangelicals! The Pope will be sucking dick for God’s sake! Its the apocalypse everybody!
    What a bunch of kooks.

  2. How many times have we heard this before?

What is means is that the authority of “faiths / religions” (because of their opposition to something that people don’t really care that much about) will be even less believable and the “clerics, mullahs and priests” will be even more of a joke than they already are.

  3. Don’t these people realise that not everyone is going to turn gay just because some people choose same sex marriage? relax dears, its not compulsory!!!!!

  4. Jen Marcus 18 Mar 2009, 3:46pm

I can’t believe the utter insane lies some of these Evangelicals and right wing religious bigots and poltical organizations spew. The real tragedy is, there are people who actually believe their insane irrational doctrines, policies, teachings, and statements. God help us from ourselves because human ignorance, fear, hate, violence, war, want, greed and lust for power, riches, property and possessions will surely destroy us all first barring of course any imminent natural disasters.

  5. Pete & Michael 18 Mar 2009, 3:51pm

Well, that’s the climate change lobby gone up the shoot!

  6. Pete & Michael 18 Mar 2009, 4:00pm

We meant to say ‘chute’, sorry for the misspelling.

  7. Ah, I see the foil hat bregade is on a day-outing again.

  8. They really should not worry. If I start feeding everyone my magic gay beans, Will Smith is sure to come to the rescue, or should that be Chuck Norris?

  9. H L Mencken (he who wonderfully lampooned the Bible-Belters at the Scopes Monkey trial in Tennessee in 1925)said that American religion had lost its vitality because no-one dared criticise it (an interesting Darwinian take). He didn’t go anything like far enough. It has simply become an emporium of raving lunacy. The Emperor Justinian thought sodomy caused earthquakes; these folk almost make him look sane.

  10. Which science fiction novel did these guys pop out of anyways? O_o

  11. Abi Chrisopher 18 Mar 2009, 4:58pm

Errr has anybody told them the world is over populated as it is. The truth is they need to stop breading so much or the world will end soon.

If anything we should be stopping half of them from getting married and sterilising them after one child.

  12. Mihangel apYrs 18 Mar 2009, 5:05pm

    gay rights:

the only thing religious bigots of all faiths agree on – they don’t want them

  13. If people think that gay marriage will be mandatory, then their mental competency is at question. That being the case, they shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Problem solved!

  14. Those religious people is crazy. Mad. Insane. Schizophenic. Loca. And they really mean it!!!

  15. The imam’s comments are so stupid, you could draw a cartoon about them

  16. Bud Burgoon-Clark 18 Mar 2009, 6:48pm

It’s lunchtime here in California … I REALLY could have done without the image of Maledict the Clueless performing fellatio (chuckle).

  17. Ikram ul-Huq wins the award for the most hilariously homophobic thing I have ever read. Keep it up – every comment like that is another death knell to religion.

  18. Replace the word ‘gay’ with ‘jew’, and we’re right back to 1930s Germany.

  19. Har Davids 18 Mar 2009, 9:16pm

Aren’t most of those religious nuts looking forward to the end of times? They should be happy when someone makes an effort to move things to their advantage.

  20. OH GOD If gays could marry humans would start sprouting leaves and become trees! Then they’d be cut down for the logging industry and forced to become log cabins! That’s about as feesible as their idea of the world ending.

The world is more likely to end by a giant bird from the sky raining fireballs than gay marriage.

  21. Edward in Los Angeles 18 Mar 2009, 9:52pm

Was Chicken Little at this press conference with this bunch of religious locos to – LOL? If I remember correctly he was worried about the sky falling…

  22. Simon Murphy 19 Mar 2009, 12:03am

Proof (s if any was needed) that religious people are certifiably insane. These freaks make less sense than the homeless guy living in my city centre who claims that he is the new god.

  23. Well what can you say – with all the really aweful stuff going on in the world, death, starvation, persecution its nice to see that we are going to bring about the end of the world (What a claim to fame that is!)

Personally I think that the Pope rambling on about condoms leading to the spread of AIDS is more of a risk in that direction. (someone put that man into a retirement home as he is clearly not all there!)

However, I would like to say that I like these rantings – makes me smile first thing in the morning!

  24. They’ll be telling us homosexuality is a greater threat than global warming next. Oh, hang on……

  25. jonnielondon 19 Mar 2009, 1:20pm

    Chicken little strikes again!

  26. OK, fess up, did one of our drag artistes dress up as the Whore of Babylon and visit Minnesota this week? They appear to have gay people and the Book of Revelations confused with each other again!
I love how they still think the world is under threat from under-population.
It’s almost tempting to dress up as a camp version of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse and gallop through the state to see how they’d react. Hope they’re all rapture ready!

  27. Only the Right Wing Religious Charlatans would believe such ludicrous procamations! There has been Gay Marriage throughout the world, including the U.S. for years. Consequently according to thier assertion they should start preparing for the end of the world. After all they have been waiting for it for in excess of 2000 years. They should be ecstatic and grateful to the Gays for making it happen.

Through FEAR and DECEPTION Religion Legislates and Legalizes Discrimination and prevents Legislation that would give Equal Rights Protection. Just assess what happened in California with Prop 8.

  28. These people are literally mad. They are operating outside of rational thought. What they are saying is SO ridiculous that most sane people who were undecided about gay marriage would read that and decide in favour of gay marriage.

Gay Marrigae has been around for centuries. Millennia, in fact… Just writing the names of married gay people in a register in one American state is harldy going to bring about the end of the world.

Allowing human rights will not cause everyone to become sterile. Promoting marriage for gay people strengthens marriage for all people. Straight couples have a LOT to learn about how to make marriage work from gay couples. A lot of straight marriages break down because of issues such as inequalities within the marriage. Gay marriage is always on a more equal footing, with an equal division of labour etc.

These people are also just loonies if they think gay marriage would mean straight people having to marry same-sex partners. The proportion of gay people in society will not change.

Their other loopy idea is that gay people are sterile. Have they never heard of gay parents??? I am a gay dad with a husband so we are clearly not contributing to the extinction of the human race. Gay marrigae is actually import BECAUSE of the fact that gay people do have children (as well as many other reasons…) Children have a right to the family stability that marriage supports.

  29. Erroll Clements 19 Mar 2009, 3:53pm

Fookin hell what planet do these twats live on !?? But then America is well known for all the religious nuts. I think they all need a good dose of ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ to lighten them up a bit and give them a well needed laugh.

  30. Terry Floyd Johnson 19 Mar 2009, 4:42pm

Yes, hear me folks of the earth, if you do not accept gay same sex marriage, you condemn the world to…or at least humanity to extinction…if everyone was straigt, then fighting would break out as straights would battle straights for the opposite sex hand, or at least body, so they could rape and do violence, more than they do today.
Have all straights in the world, and humanity would go out of existence, because of all our wars, nuclear blasts, and psycholgoical horror, at they only see themselves wherever they look- pure damnation.

  31. “If everyone is a gay, this world will cease to exist in ten years,”

Mad and not very good at Maths either. What are we all going to do? Spontaneously combust after a decade of gay marriage?
Hasn’t the Netherlands had gay marriage since 2001? So only two years to go before the end of the world.Yep, all makes sense to me. NOT.

  32. Alex, Brisbane, Qld 21 Mar 2009, 12:50am

    How powerful are we..!

  33. Wait a minute, don’t these loonies stop their clerics from marrying, they certainly do in the Catholic religion, so perhaps with the end of the world so near a good first step to prevent such a catastrophe would be to allow these clerics to marry!!

  34. bint alshamsa 22 Mar 2009, 9:48pm

Flapjack, I would play good money to see a show like that.

  35. bint alshamsa 22 Mar 2009, 9:49pm

Flapjack, I would pay good money to see a show like that!

  36. lol… I’m quite surprised that those who have been preaching end of the world since time immemoriam are now are now afraid of it ending. hahaha
Is Jesus no more coming soon? Or will Allah not require us to return. Rapture? Their guilty runs when no one is after them.

  37. Brian Burton 25 Mar 2009, 3:23pm

To me the mirror of perfect Love can never be dulled by any treachery, however mean, however base. oppersition to Gay Partnerships will come and go like shadows but our ideals remaines untarnished always: The ideal of lives linked together by Love or the pleasentness of companionship is irevokable.

  38. Bring on the Gay Apocalypse! I moved to the UK to partner with my love, as this was not possible in Texas where I lived. I’m almost ashamed to admit I’m from Texas, for all the right-wingnuts and all of the bigots hiding behind a mask of few selected passages of the bible.
