The second, for £496,334, will be used by the charity to launch its its four-year Second Generation project developed tp contribute to LGBT family and friends’ increased understanding and awareness of LGBT issues and needs.

The project involves workshops, outreach and events to get LGBT Londoners talking about the changes they most want to see and the services that can best support their needs.

Chief executive officer of KiS, Jane Standing, said: “It is hugely rewarding that the Big Lottery Fund has agreed to fund two significant projects for London’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.

“It is very encouraging to see bigger funders supporting grassroots action. Lots of people and organisations, including those that are smaller and diverse, have contributed to making this happen.”
