Please sign the petition this is about the equality of treatment throughout the NHS and how PCTs continually get treatment provision wrong. Some PCTs only budget for 0.2 gender reassignments a year effectively barring treatment for patients.
The Oxfordshire PCT policy tender mounts to an abuse of Equality and Human Rights, ” Interrelated” Transphobia and leaving a person in limbo, disgraceful to say the least
“will then consider policy in the light of new clinical evidence and current national practice.” It is unbelievable that in 2011 a Health ‘Care’ Trust should still issue statements that sound as if they had just heard the term “gender dysphoria”. I would like to see the Trust’s record on other surgeries (e.g. breast augmentation for non trans women & gastric band procedures) as this may indicate where their priorities lie. I am not trans, but as a doctor I am appalled at the continued treatment of trans people who are still being marginalised and ignored in our narrow minded society.

I’d willingly sign the petition but can’t find it here or elsewhere.
