  1. Local surgeries should hold focus groups where lesbians can come in & educate them!! I would certainly oblige as I am out to my doctor. I’d happily go round other surgeries in my city too.

  2. Lesbians are just as likely to get cervical cancer as straight women – is there any evidence available to back this assertion as it seems highly unlikely. Cervical cancer is overwelmingly caused by the HPV virus which I believe comes from a man’s penis, so it is largely a sexually transmitted disease, with some other contributing factors.

    I think this article massively overstates. Fair enough, if lesbians have slept with men they should think about gettin a smear, but trying to to imply that a lesbian who has never slept with a man is as likely to get cervical cancer as an actively heterosexual woman is just patronising, and false.
