Profile, one of the most popular gay bars in Soho, London, is to cease trading at the end of next month.

A joint venture between QSoft Consulting, which owns the Gaydar brand, and Vince Power Music Group (VPMG), the £1 million Frith Street bar was opened in March 2007.

VPMG will continue to operate Profile until April 30th 2009 after which time it will cease trading under its current name.

Lo-Profile, the nightclub at 84-86 Wardour Street, remains open and is now wholly owned by QSoft Consulting Ltd.

A spokesman from QSoft Consulting would not comment on the reason for the closure, saying only that the relationship between the two companies had ended.

He added: “We will be opening a new venue. A statement will be issued soon but we still have work to do.”
