I hope they overturn Prop 8.

But if they uphold it and declare the 18000 gay marriages illegal I hope there are major protests and riots. A strong message needs to be sent to the bigots that they are not allowed to impose their views on people who don’t agree with them.

The majority of Californians voted to withdraw a right. A nation ought never to withdraw a right from any of it’s citizens. It is a very dangerous path to follow.

In the same category, their action was comparable to the removal of rights for the Jews under Nazi Germany.

  3. My partner and I are among the 18,000 who wed in California. I am on pins and needles awaiting this judgement. It is so unfair that heteros can marry over and over again on a whim and I who have been with my partner for 8 years have to go through all this BS to have our relationship recognized. And still only half recognized because of DOMA. I am so heartsick over all of this. Why can’t we just live our own lives?
