LGBT students from around the country will be heading for the seaside city of Brighton next week for the fifth National Student Pride.

Acts will include headliner Frankmusik, Doll & The Kicks, Carly Bryant, Psycho Fag, Dear Britch and Kenelis, along with DJs Scott Mills of Radio 1, Alex Baker of Gaydar Radio and Jonesy of Juice FM.

Other events include a pub crawl, drag acts and a debate featuring NUS president Wes Streeting, Stonewall and Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling.

Speaking to gay magazine 3SIXTY, chair of Student Pride Tom Guy said: “We’re really thrilled with the way things are going.

“The feedback we’re getting is amazing.

“Lots of gay students are telling us that it’s so important for them to have an event where they can come and hang out with other LGBT students.

“If there isn’t a gay scene in the town where your uni is I think it’s great that gay people can come to a city like Brighton to Student Pride and see how many gay people there are, and that it’s not abnormal.

“National Student Pride is about everyone being able to hear what their peers have to say. And most importantly, it’s about having fun together.”

National Student Pride will be held on Sunday, March 8th and tickets are on sale now.
