  1. What does it matter if he used to be a porn star? How exactly does that prevent him from doing his job and whose business is it anyway?

  2. Has anyone seen it? was it gay porn or str8?

  3. @Simon

precisely! If it isn’t illegal it isn’t an issue! And it’s not as though he’s doing now, so why are sex workers in whatever capacity considered unfit? They have families, they need money to live, and they’re cheating anyone (unlike bankers and politicins!)

  4. I think the best bit is this one: “Last year a 22-year-old was fired from a branch of sandwich chain Subway after a customer recognised him from his gay porn work and complained.”

ie: Hi, I watch enough gay porn to to be able to recognise the actors in the street but I can’t bare for them to serve me in a restaurant… DUH!

  5. It was a gay bondage porn video.

Verdugo is an out gay man who was already in the process of suing the police department for anti-gay discrimination when he went on Design Star.

This is old news in the US.

  6. But was he a top or a bottom in the film? If he took a dominant role he would be less likely to get verbal abuse from any crims (or colleagues) who were aware of the film. Sadly bottoms get less respect in the streets, no matter how tough they are in real life.

  7. ur all right its not illegal. but officers are required to sign a contract that says that they have to behave in dignified mattter off duty as well. if he participated in porn (gay or straight)he could be suspended or fired. if he was honest about it during the oral board it might have been different but if he hid it, then it works against him.

  8. I have the video. It’s bondage and domination. He is the submissive, although there is no anal penetration.

  9. He did porn films *before* he joined the force.
    What *is* people’s problem?
If he’d broken the law – fair enough – but he hasn’t.

  10. *sarcasm* i never knew there was a list of things you can / cannot do or have done if your a police officer. i dont see how it changes being a cop in the slightest bit. anyone else able to think of how it would?

  11. who cares? like the subway worker and the teacher – who cares? how does what he’s done affect his job unless you have an agenda! homophobic losers would make it an issue
the article says he’s excellent at his job so isn’t that all what matters
