  1. Good for him- true we have had far done for us in the last 10 years. Some tidying up remaining. I hope he and his partner go well and will eventually be civil partners.

“The one thing that winds me up is gay people who consider the gay ‘agenda’ complete and are considering voting for the Conservative party.”

Gays have had it good for years, no thanks to Labour. If this government had any social conscience it would prosecute outing.
These scumbag tabloids have had it good for too long, hit them where it hurts – in the wallet.

There are still many blue-rinse tories, but that demographic is changing, along with many more Gay Conservatives. That’s what democracy is all about, people have to learn to change with the times. Personally, my political beliefs have nothing to do with my sexuality.

Chris Bryant’s a politician – they’re all the same – self opinionated busy bodies who want to run everyone else’s life. So he’s gay – so what? So he gets outed – so what – he wanted to be in the public eye and if he’d had the courage to be out himself he couldn’t have been outed could he? As I say they’re all the same – sod them I say.

Oh for God’s sake Chris Bryant’s a politician – they’re all the same – self opinionated busy bodies who want to run everyone else’s life. So he’s gay – so what? So he gets outed – so what – he wanted to be in the public eye and if he’d had the courage to be out himself he couldn’t have been outed could he? As I say they’re all the same – sod them I say.

  5. I don’t think he’s talking about being outed as gay, but being outed as having a Gaydar profile – I think he was already out. He says some of his friends weren’t out to their families. It’s a stupid thing to be hounded by the press over, and a complete non-story that a single (he was then) man might look for sex.

  6. Do you think he’d be so candid about his “trips” to/in Fire?

My sexuality doesn’t define my politics.

I won’t be voting labour because they are utterly incompetent and dishonest. Is Chris Bryant seriously trying to tell me that I should ignore the abject failure of the Blair/Brown governments just because they’ve been ‘nice’ to th (so-called) minority to which I belong?

  8. Lol ‘They are just self appointed busy bodies’
Um, no, theyre not self appointed – people vote them in. People who care about the freedoms the Labour party has given us over the last decade.
You cant tarr all politicians as self serving – its just stupid. Harvey Milk was a politician and fought for all of us. Its as stupid as labelling all gay people the same.

I don’t think Chris Bryant’s private life should have any bearing on his political standing one way or another. In mainland Europe they have a much healthier attitude to the separation of what you do in the bedroom and what you do in parliament.
That said, leaving an explicit profile on gaydar for any passing tabloid to pick apart like vultures is perhaps not the smartest thing for a politician to do. I’m sure most straight politicians wouldn’t be so naive. There must be other dating options for MPs that don’t result in tabloid muckraking?

  10. Chris Bryant is a twat. He was p*ssing it up in Barcode last year when his Rhonnda constituency was under 6 feet of snow. If you’re gay vote Labour? What an idiot. And I can just imagine how “progressive” those Labour-supporting ex-miners in Wales are of him. Happy with his partner? His cruising in the showers at the YMCA where he swims is so blatent it is ridiculous, how many times does he “forget” something from his locker?

As for that photo – you don’t think he got those bathroom tiles on the John lewis list, do you?

  11. Chris Bryant is an idiot. You have to vote Labour because you are gay, do you? Talk about brainwashing. If the Labour Government had spent as much time actually trying to administer things properly and get some value for money as it has going on about “nasty Tories, same old Tories” on their pathetic childish class war, they might stand a chance of ever getting back into power in the next five General elections.

Every Labour Government in history has finished with a devalued pound, borrowing off whoever will lend to it and unemplyment higher than when it come into office. This one is no different. When the unions start striking again and we have rubbish piling up in the streets it will be just like old times again.

And this “what goes on in the bedroom shouldn’t count”, do we really want people in office meeting foreign dignitries who cottage or go online with pictures of them in their knickers?
