Will Young to appear on Question Time in February
Pop singer Will Young is to appear as a panellist on political discussion programme Question Time next year.
Mentorn Media, who produce the show for BBC One, said he would appear on the February 5th edition, which will be recorded in Dunstable.
In October Mr Young, 29, revealed in an interview on BBC Radio 5 with Simon Mayo that he would love to go on the show.
Minutes later Question Time’s editor Gill Penlington rang in to offer him a spot.
Mr Young came out to the public while a contestant in the first series of Pop Idol in 2002.
He went on to win the reality show.
That led to a successful career that has included film appearances, hit albums and one of the fastest-selling debuts in UK chart history.
He attended Exeter University and was awarded a 2:2 in politcs.
“I don’t see myself as an expert – I’m just a singer,” Mr Young told Simon Mayo.
“Although I’d love to go on something like Question Time, I do have opinions on it, but that’s not my job description.”
