I think this is a good idea for Northern Ireland considering the homophobic religious extremism of the ruling unionist party and the apathy and disinterest on the part of the police in investigating and prosecuting hate crimes against gay people.

I bet Iris Robinson will get her knickers in a twist over this one assuming she wears any, maybe bloomers instead.

  3. only the UK could allow one priest-ridden province to remain in the dark ages with regard to LGBT rights. British MPs etc would have been all over the place like a rash if it were a racial or religious issue: but because the god-botherers hold sway there they’ve been accommodated

  4. “Priest ridden” and “Province”? apYrs while I do agree with your sentiment, I think it might not advisable to make such strong comments as you clearly do not have the full picture. I think that referring to Iris Robinson as a Catholic would be more insulting to her then implying she is a Lesbian. Those making the strongest homophobic comments (currently) are members of Protestant Churches (or rather Sects as there are so many of them).
