    “The clear leadership of the Anglican Church against racial, homophobic and all forms of hate crime is to welcomed by all.”

    Given the clear split within the Anglican Church on gay relationships and rights and the large number of Anglicans(if not a majority) vehemently opposed to these, this statement seems a bit rich.

  2. I agree with George. The C of E should keep out of matters like this as on the whole it is a contributor to homophobia and bigotry.

  3. Interesting debate gents; whilst the Anglicans are split on this one and can’t decide one way or the other, the RC church is currently carrying out a homophobic crusade worldwide. The very least you can say is that LGBT clergy are openly in place in the Anglican Church and Desmond Tutu is very much a supporter of LGBT rights.
