Given the clear split within the Anglican Church on gay relationships and rights and the large number of Anglicans(if not a majority) vehemently opposed to these, this statement seems a bit rich.
Interesting debate gents; whilst the Anglicans are split on this one and can’t decide one way or the other, the RC church is currently carrying out a homophobic crusade worldwide. The very least you can say is that LGBT clergy are openly in place in the Anglican Church and Desmond Tutu is very much a supporter of LGBT rights.

I agree with George. The C of E should keep out of matters like this as on the whole it is a contributor to homophobia and bigotry.
