  1. I was in Riga on holiday at the time of the ‘march’ and initially thought I’d simply doccument what people were doing but got so angry at the anti-gay crowds that I joined the march! It was an awful feeling to be penned into an area with people baying for my death on the other side of a fence. I had to defy a ‘guard’ at the entrance when he demanded whether or not I was ‘one of them?’

    It is a stark reminder of the freedoms we have here and how easily they might be taken away.
