Julian Clary’s suit to be auctioned online for NSPCC
Comedian, TV presenter and author Julian Clary has donated one of his favourite suits to raise money for the NSPCC.
The charity runs ChildLine, the UK’s free and confidential, 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger.
Thousands of children who are being bullied because they are gay, bisexual, lesbian or trans contact ChildLine every year.
Mr Clary’s red and green duplon crushed velvet, long-coated suit with embroidered style waistcoat was made for him by John Pearse. It is size 34 waist and 42 chest.
The suit appeared on It’s Only TV but I Like It! when Julian appeared with Phil Jupitus and Jonathan Ross.

Mr Clary said:
“The NSPCC has such an important job to do, so I am delighted to donate my fabulous suit for auction to help raise funds for them.
“Any money bid for this suit could pay for a dozen calls to ChildLine, or for a child to receive expert counselling.
“This suit has given me lots of great memories and I hope the winning bidder as has much fun in it as I did!”

His 2006 autobiographical work A Young Man’s Passage was well-received, and this year Murder Most Fab, his first work of fiction, was published last year.
