Former Mr Gay UK Anthony Morley found guilty of murder
A jury at Leeds Crown Court has found the first winner of the Mr Gay UK contest guilty of murder.
Anthony Morley, 36, won the contest in 1993.
In April this year police were called to his flat in Leeds where they found the mutilated corpse of Damian Oldfield, 33.
His throat had been cut and pieces of flesh carved out of his chest and thigh.
Police discovered cooked pieces of human flesh on a chopping board in Morley’s kitchen – one had been chewed.
Morley claimed that Mr Oldfield, who he had invited round for dinner and watched a DVD with, had tried to rape him.
The jury took just over two hours to reach its verdict today. Morley will be sentenced later.
