Both Jack Straw and Lord Mandelson are very good assets of the Labour Party, they are both qualified to the job very well.

In a gay context, Lord Mandelson is far more useful for the gay comunity in the House of Lords than to take care of the anti-corruption.

However, if the Government really wants to put an end to corruption, then the Government should hire the European Commissioner for Competion, the Dutch Neelie Kroes, who is well known for her taugh measures and battles against big giants, needless to say who they are.

Mmmm .. I could maybe have a guess why ….

Could it be something to do with failing to register a loan from Geoffrey Robinson given at a hugely preferential rate …

Register is “to provide information of any pecuniary interest or other material benefit which a Member receives which might reasonably be thought by others to influence his or her actions, speeches, or votes in Parliament, or actions taken in his or her capacity as a Member of Parliament”.

Particularly when dear old Mandy was then asked to investigate old Georgie’s business activities ….. peut-être a slight conflict of interest in the eyes of the man on the street.
