If the law in your home country states that you as a Gay Person of either sex is an abomination in the eyes of God and should be put to death or imprisoned in a harsh penal institute, I don’t think they should be deported from the UK; its often a death sentence not a deportation!
gays are among the most persecuted people in the world, yet we get sent back to our persecutors!!
Is this the govt service that allowed convicted skyjackers to stay after serving their sentences because they may be persecuted? Is this the service that can’t deport people detrimental to our national security because they may face the punishment for crimes committed in their countries of origin?
apYrs says it all, really; I heartily agree. This government is so two faced – it gave us Civil Partnerships but still connives in our oppression and, like Pontius Pilate, just washes its hands. Around the annniversary of Matthew Shephard’s slaying, it is all the more horrific of Homer to come out with this nonsense.
Funny that suspected Muslim terrorists are not returned to countries like Jordan for fear that they will not receive a fair trial and then receive tens of thousands of pounds in state handouts but a young gay person, who only wants the sanctuary of this country, can be returned to their country when it is known as FACT that their partner was slaughtered for being gay.
As I know Ms Homer and her views I am suprised that she has taken this tand; she is usully very gay supportive; now she is acting like the Home Secretary!
