  1. Only a monster would allow children to be killed for anything.

  2. This man is either very stupid, or very degenerate…. or perhaps both. Its a shame in this age, despite all our advances, a man like this debase creature can still be in a position of power so he can execute innocent people.

  3. Whilst I agree that this guy is evil, I can’t help but agree with him about George Bush. He’s already got 2 (unsuccessful) wars on the go and he’s trying to push Iran about and Russia as well.
If Iran does have nuclear weaponry, does anyone really think that Ahmadinejad would hesitate to make use of it if USA did try to invade?

  4. Could someone not just shoot this man?

  5. To be fair, Ahmadinejad himself has very limited control over the way the Iranian law is both framed and executed. Under the singular constitution of Iran, authority is shared between the executive body and the religious jurists, the latter usually having the final say in political and juridical matters. Under former president Khatamei, the balance of power swung towards the presidency and (to some extent) towards liberal reforms, but the sabre-rattling of America post-9/11 has drawn Iran towards a more insular and anti-Western regime. This is now increasingly unpopular, but it may be a long time before the jurists relinquish the authority they have gained over the last five years.

I dare say this idiot would find support among the right-wing fundies on both sides of the Atlantic, many in the GOP, the grand old party of hate, the republicans (conservatives) would endorse this evil piece of trash.

“Iranian human rights campaigners estimate that 4,000 gay men have been executed since the Islamic revolution in 1979.

Under Sharia law gay sex illegal, with penalty of death for offenders as young as 14 years old.”

What is it about the Home Office and the xenophobes who post here don’t get? How much more proof do they need?

  8. rjb, are you a muslim or something? How is it in every forum you are defending this religious crap?

  9. No, I’m not a Muslim (thanks for asking – would it make any difference if I were?). I am, however, a doctoral student in Arabic and Islamic history, and I am appalled by the ignorance of many of those posting on this site. Prejudice, it seems, gets half-way around the world before truth has time to get its pants on.

Anyway – I hardly think my post above is particularly “defending this religious crap.” I was simply attempting to put the difficult issue of Iranian human rights in some perspective.

we are 10% of the population
we have 20% of the wealth .
    Islam kills Gay .
but I never saw a real muslim as for me a good muslim should have no hands , as all of us humans have stolen at one time in our lives
Religions are the refuge of hypocrits.
so all Muslims get your hands chopped off and come back to me .

    Acceptance?

    Who’s Ahmadinejad trying to kid?

We’re not accepted by either party in the US, both of whom pander to bigots, and who will own whoever wins. (Hint. It’ll be Obama in a landslide. Then the fund begins; we’ll rename him Hoover or maybe give him one of those stylish hyphenated names like Hoover-Nixon.)

I suppose Ahmadinejad means we’re not hunted down and murdered the way the ayatollahs do, or tortured, flogged and then dropped from cliffs and cranes. At least not by the state. Not officially. But the rampant bigotry of both parties, and many in government and nearly everyone in the cults is a green light for the thugs who do assault and murder young gays and lesbians. It’s the same in Europe, where a wave of anti-GLBT violence is cresting, fed by the bigotry of cultists, especially the ones who enjoy raping young boys.

Religion and conservative politics are the enemy.

While rjb is right that “To be fair, Ahmadinejad himself has very limited control over the way the Iranian law is both framed and executed” I think you could say the same about a lot of conservative bigots who got their necks stretched at Nuremburg. I can’t wait until the working people, youth, women and our own folks rise up and tear down the conservative religious regime of the ayatollahs.

Ahmadinejad deserves to end up like Mussolini.
