There were some familiar faces among the throng on Manchester’s gay village last night.

LGBT Labour were holding a mix and mingle, and several senior members of the party attended.

Upstairs at axm bar was packed, and Deputy Leader Harriet Harman made an early appearance with husband Jack Dromey, Labour party treasurer.

Foreign Office miniser Meg Munn seemed delighted at the turnout, as delegates, press and the odd exhibitor partied.

The arrival of Cabinet Office minister Ed Miliband turned heads, while Treasury minister Angela Eagle and her soon to be civil partner Maria Exall looked relaxed and happy as hordes of LGBT Labour folk came to congratualte them on their upcoming nuptials.

Several people made speeches, which no one heard a word of as there was no PA system and the music from the lower floor of the bar was blasting gay-friendly dance music.

LGBT Labour will co-host a fringe meeting with gay rights group Stonewall tomorrow night.
