  1. My God(!) another cleric speaking common sense; at this rate I will have to return to the Church(well maybe not!) Here’s a tip for the Cof E; ditch the Old testament and concentrate on what Jesus Christ himself did and said; you will soon see that he was not judgmental or homophobic!

  2. Where does the word ‘hypocrisy’ occur in what ++Morgan says? I can’t see it anywhere. Another case of pinknews subeditors (if indeed you have such things) overstepping their editorial bounds? Barry Morgan is making the liberal case for toleration, as he has done frequently in the past. He is not attacking his fellow Anglicans who disagree with him, much less accusing them of ‘hypocrisy’. No orthodox Christian is ever going to ‘ditch it’ as you suggest. If you read ++Morgan’s arguments carefully, you will see that he is advocating no such thing; he just wants Anglicans to read the OT more carefully.

Mike: first of all, Morgan is not C of E – he is the primate of the Church of Wales! Secondly, the Old Testament is of tremendous importance to all Christians.

  3. Sorry, I could do with a subeditor myself. Here is what I meant to say:

  4. Sorry; should have said Anglican (or is that wrong for the Welsh Church?) I still do not see why the Old testament, which is the story of Jewish History and Legend is so important to Christianity? Given, Jesus was Jewish but Christian churches are based on Pauline teachings and he was strongly against Jewish Practices! If Christainity respected the old testament why make war on the Jews for centuries?
