Well what do you know? A Republican VP couple speaks out in favour of equality for their gay daughter. Now if they could just see their way to extending the rest of the gay population the same level of consideration… I guess it helps if you’re related, huh.
couldn’t agree more…why are these people so selfish…gay rights are obviously a political issue not just a personal one, the respect and lack of judgement they want shown to their gay daughter should be shown to all lesbian and gay people, and yet they make no effort at all to make things easier for any gay people other than their own relatives, rather they collude with the people who enforce the prejudice. How can a woman like Lynne Chenney, who loves and respects her gay daughter and her daughters partner have anything to say in support of a homophobe like Sarah Palin?
The Cheneys should be ashamed of themselves! They represent the highest degree of hypocrisy! They had a chance to make a big difference in the lives of glbt people by standing up to the Republican party and denouncing their anti-gay policies but chose instead to keep quiet and embrace policies that have devastated many gay people and their families. They had enough power and influence to really make a difference and chose instead to do nothing!! Shame! Shame! Shame!
I agree, Gene. Nowhere does Lynne Cheney say she agrees with marriage equality for her daughter. Its beyond a stretch. They Cheneys like most neocons are prisoners of the evangelical christo fascists that have hijacked their party.

Um…it’s a stretch to interpret these words as supporting using the word “marriage” among those freedoms Lynne wants to give Mary and Heather.
