A 30-year-old Ghanaian man, whom the Ghanaian press have labelled as “gay”, has been charged with child abuse.

Ernest Korletey pleaded not guilty to sexually abusing two brothers, aged 9 and 11, before Accra Circuit Court.

Mr Korletey has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in court on 9th September.

The prosecution, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lawrence Gbele claimed that in March, Mr Korletey befriended the brothers and abused them at his home.

Mr Gbele also claimed that Mr Korletey had forced the children to keep the assaults secret, but that they had eventually told their mother.
