Barcode nightclub is set to host Drug Idle, an evening of debate and discussion around recreational drug use.

Hosted by popular drag artist Stewart Who? the event will take place at Barcode, Vauxhall on Thursday 14th August at 7pm.

The event, which will include a panel debate, questions from the audience, and a quiz will be held in partnership with the NHS, Guy’s and St Thomas Poisons Unit, SaferLambeth and Terrence Higgins Trust.

Panel speakers include: Eren Bessim, LGBT and Hate crime coordinator for Lambeth for the Metropolitan Police; David Wood from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals Poisons Unit; and Kelvin Julian from Terrance Higgins Trust.

Organisers of the event say:

‘The concept behind Drug Idle is to help create awareness for those who take drugs recreationally whilst out clubbing, at home or use drugs for sexual purposes.

‘Drug Idle is set to educate audiences with: facts about drug substances, how to help others in trouble, how far security guards can search them in club, and much more.’

Drug Idle is sponsored by Gaydar, Barcode and the Vauxhall Gay Business Forum, with prizes for guests donated by Prowler Stores.
