Boyzone star Stephen Gately suffers £80,000 break-in

Gay Boyzone star Stephen Gately has suffered from a burglary in which he lost £80,000 worth of jewellery.

The break-in at his Highgate home in North London involved the loss of a watch that he purchased with his first pay packet from Boyzone.

He also lost a £20,000 custom-made Rolex watch in addition to a Cartier diamond watch also worth £20,000 and bracelet from his civil partner Andy Coules.

The star told the Sunday Mirror: “I’m deeply upset because these items had great sentimental value. They’ll probably be sold off for a fraction of their true value.”
