I wish or politicians would embrace what I see as the quintessential quality of what America could be: a radical and revolutionary nation. Instead of revolution and changing cultural ideas and norms to allow freedom to more people, McCain seems content to squander the possibilities of creating a more free nation in order to acquiesce to people who are searching for a non-existent past paradise, and in the process hurting Americans like myself and others. Additionally, I find it demeaning that the people of this country who claim to love liberty and bravery seek constantly to break the spirit and control the actions of other human beings.
