    John, I doubt it, we’re not that progressive or civilised, no matter which party occupies number 10. Jacqui Smith is clueless. The Home Office believes that for Gay people living under oppressive regimes across the world, being discreet and living in fear is the norm if one is to survive. Persecution, torture and excecution of Gay people of course doesn’t exist in Smith’s distorted view of reality and I daresay she wouldn’t lose any sleep if she deports just one asylum seeker back to Iran or anywhere else to face a life of hell and a probable fatal outcome once their plight is made public in their own country.
