Coronation Street: Carla stirs up trouble for Maria and Liam
Scheming Carla is back to her old tricks again this week as she stirs things up between Liam and Maria. The crafty minx tells Liam to sell his share of the factory to Tony. When Liam won’t play ball, she makes an appointment with Maria at the hair salon. Does Carla just need a cut and blow dry? Or is she about to blow Liam’s cover?
Knowing what a loose cannon Carla can be, Liam decides to give in to her demands and offer the factory to Tony at a knock-down price. However, he is completely taken aback when Tony plays hard-ball and tells him that he’ll think about it. Later, Tony comes back with a ridiculously cheap offer and Liam refuses. But Carla twists his arm when she threatens to tell Maria the truth.
Unfortunately for Liam, Carla gets to Maria before he can and delights in telling her how her husband has just sold off the factory at a fraction of its worth. As you can imagine Maria is furious that he even considered selling it without consulting her first. She sees straight through his excuse about going into business with his cousin Tom.
It’s not just Maria who’s suffering from shock. The factory girls are flabbergasted when Tony and Carla announce that he has taken over. Will Underworld ever be the same again?
Elsewhere, things could be looking up for reformed bad boy David when Tina finds him a job at the paper. But when his reference from Audrey arrives he realises that no employer is going to touch him and decides not to go for the job.
When Tina and David later show the reference to Ted he surprises the young lad by giving him a new reference which is infinitely more glowing than Audrey’s. As a result, David lands the job. Audrey is stunned. She has no idea what Ted has done. What will she say when she finds out the truth?
Meanwhile, Teresa confesses that she has been dipping into the kebab shop till. She swears it was because she needed things for her son Finlay. Mel flies off the handle but her outrage turns to shock when she later finds out that Lloyd is Finlay’s dad. Unable to believe what she’s hearing, she drags him round to the house to tell Jerry and Teresa the news. How will Jerry react to this bombshell?
Still fuming about Lloyd’s shocking news, Mel insists that Teresa leaves immediately. But later Jerry has a change of heart when he sees Teresa waiting at the bus stop and invites her out for a drink with him. They soon get chatting and Teresa opens up and tells him about her partner Gary and his violent outbursts. Feeling his heart soften, Jerry caves in and invites her back to the house. What will Mel say when she sees that Jerry has undermined her and invited thieving Teresa back into their home?
