As Britain gets ready for a summer of LGBT Pride festivals, the countdown begins to Bournemouth’s fifth annual bournefree festival.

It kicks off on 11th July.

Spread over three days, the event is a colourful celebration of all diversities that live in the area and universal equality for all.

bournefree was originally set up in 2004 and has since become an annual affair attracting thousands of people from across the UK.

bournefree 2008 kicks off with Jazz night on 11th July, a perfect way to spend an evening listening to the sounds of Jazz artists as the sun goes down.

The 12th sees everyone dressed up as sexy doctors and nurses, hunky soldiers and sailors, all taking part in the procession. This time the parade is going all the way through The Triangle (the town’s gay village).

The event also has its trademark bournefree live show with an excellent line up of top acts including a variety of performers, from singers and musicians to drag artists and comedy acts.

It doesn’t end there, the street party in The Triangle is to be larger than ever been before with a huge entertainment stage, beer tent, VIP area and a range of market stalls.

The festivities end on 13th July, with a Caribbean Affair at Jimmys, The Branksome and Bent.
