FULL equality! Way to go California. New Jersey and New York are next! Goodbye to discrimination in the form of civil unions! No longer will we be segregated.

Robert, the combined populations of California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Iowa (with a pending court decision) equal roughly 72 millions out of a total US population of 301 millions. We still have a long way to go this year alone the number of people living in states that recognize same sex marriage jumped by over 50 million.

California and New York recognize same sex marriage instead of the debasing “second class citizen” status of civil unions and civil partnerships. Hopefully the California decision will prompt equally healthy developments in the EU and elsewhere.
