The political impotence of American working people rests on the political monopoly of the two parties of business as usual and business for profit. It’s the origin of the most unfair health care system in any industrial nation.

About 45 million Americans and an unknown but huge number of immigrant and imported workers have no health care at all. A large propitiation of them are GLBT workers who lack job protections and benefits because the Democrats ditched ENDA, the GLBT anti-discrimination bill. They can be seen day an night in long lines at emergency rooms and county clinics. This coldhearted disregard of people is part of the “malign neglect” practices of the Democrats and Republicans. They give tax cuts to the rich but have systematically cut benefits and entitlements for working and poor people. They’re as rancid as the Thatcherites. The ultimate example of their callousness was Katrina.

We need socialized medicine. We need a party that will that tax the rich for whatever it takes to provide it, good housing, education and an adequate diet.
